CarrionCrow: Well, you guessed correctly. Depending on what group of people you're speaking with at a given time, it can feel like you're in 2015, or have managed to step through a time warp back to all the worst parts of the 50's.
avatar
ElTerprise: Things like this can also happen in Germany. It's not really restricted to the US...
Unfortunately, that doesn't surprise me. As much as I'd sometimes like to think of it as a largely American problem, I know it isn't.

moonshineshadow: You know the ß is a normal letter in Germany as well? Only the Swiss are free of it :D
But only the normal ß not the capital ß (which i actually can't find on my keyboard right now) which is apparently a thing...
avatar
CarrionCrow: That's the difference, D. Some people, like you and your family, are good.
Some people, like your partner's mother, are kinda shit, just in general.
I know, that is why I said I consider myself to be very lucky with the family I have.

So, did you cave in and buy the new release, or will you wait for it to go on sale at a later date?
avatar
AgentBirdnest: I love being able to laugh about 'muricans here ;-)
I normally can't have conversations like this without at least 3 people pulling guns out ;-p
What's your point?
avatar
EndreWhiteMane: It that one o them thar snobby brits talkin' trash bout us 'muricans agin?
Ah talk an writ gooder englissh than any o them thar forin peepls.
avatar
ElTerprise: Moin Endre, how are you today.

And seems legit what you wrote. Reminds me a bit of the squabblings between Northern Germans and Southern Germans on who speaks the better German ^^
Morning sir, doing better today thanks.
We also have accents that are almost different languages in different parts of the country.
Not to mention the different slangs between cultures and the 1000 different foreign accents.
We are indeed the 'melting pot'. :-)

j0ekerr: Wazzup?

I see we've gotten to the 1500 hundred pages milestone and beyond. But we're still 2700 posts shy of finding out wether the forum database indexes its posts with a short signed int or not.
Good afternoon. =)

No clue, but you'll have the answer in less than two weeks at the current post rate.

How's your day going?

ddickinson: I was going to try to write this in 'murican-English, but I am not sure I can, plus it would play havoc with my dyslexic brain and I might just end up confusing myself. :-)

So. Hello, Endre! How are you today, how is the knee?

*Big morning hug*
*hug back* I actually have trouble writing that. :-)
Doing OK here today.
Are you pointing at Licurg with this?
avatar
CarrionCrow: Two words - culture parasite. ;)
avatar
ddickinson: I though that said Two Worlds at first and thought you were commenting on the quality of that game. :-)

In my defence, I am only skimming the forums while trying to sort through some documentation and find some more things my father has "filed away", meaning lord knows where it is. :-)
-laughs- The joys of multitasking.

Haven't ever gotten into that one, but from what I've heard, I'll be screaming about horrible voice acting when I do.
It's supposedly absolutely atrocious.
avatar
moonshineshadow: *quickly hugging you speechless before you are giving me a headache with more of this* :P
avatar
EndreWhiteMane: Woof! OK, I'll stop now. :-)
*big hug back*
Yeah thanks :-) Glad to hear that your knee is getting a bit better, hope it continues to improve.

I am not sure this is true. Where did you get that? I have never seen that here at all.
avatar
ddickinson: But I think I need to stop bringing up these topics, I am beginning to feel guilty for mentioning so much about the Americans that is not really that nice.
Hmph... I'm sure I mention it far more than you ;-)
I suppose we should all be careful, tough. I'd hate for any of us to be on a CIA watch list ;-p

That's good to hear. Well it's similar with the dialects (and yes Letzeburgesch is a dialect imho). I really have problems with Bavarian and Alemannic dialects sometimes...

I only saw it once in an atlas but acoording to this (in german) it's real and official but extremely rare i guess...

LOL!! That is quite epic :-D

Another topic : As much as I love cats, I don't care much for my throat being stepped on so they can sniff my eyebrows :-p

Yep, Alemmanic can get some time to get used to :D
But you should also try to understand some Swiss people from example from Wallis, they are even worse ;-)
avatar
CarrionCrow: -laughs-

Good morning. =)

How're you doing today?
avatar
EndreWhiteMane: Doing OK here, knee's a little better and on coffee number 2.
Looked like your storm was a good one on the radar last night.
Any damage? How are you feeling today?
That's good. Not sure what the exact cause of your pain is, but early-onset arthritis sucks so I'm using that as a basis. No fun whatsoever.

It definitely got loud. The animals kinda lost their minds for a while when the thunder went off like artillery shells, but that's about it. So long as I'm careful where I step so my fat ass doesn't sink into a muddy spot up to my shin, it'll be fine. Couple days and it'll be back to normal.

Can't complain here, actually started Icewind 1 earlier, pleased about that. Should've switched out my ranger for a class I actually like, but I don't want to go back to the beginning to do so.

As for anything else, it's fine. Just the normal abnormalities. ;)
