You can now choose between different couples, and it comes with new models, new actors, gendered lines, new assets and more!

To join our Contest, simply comment on the forum, what your favorite video game pair is and why.

We will pick 3 of the best entries and reward them with a key for Haven!
Couple by a different definition. Kratos and Atreus from God of War. Its about a father that's distant and cold who becomes caring and warm and finds peace with his son and who hes becoming. While doing so he learns how to show him how much he cares instead of just growling and yelling at him.

He learns to show his feelings and break out of his cold shell, learns to allow feelings inside again. God of War is as much a tale of family as it is about killing gods and monsters. If anything its even more then that, its a Father learning how to love his son and show warmth and care and a child learning that his father is not immortal and truly loves him in his own way.

Its an story that really hit home for me. I never had a father growing up so videogames, movies and TV shows are all I have to relate to. God of War of all things gave me something to experience, to imagine a father being like. I wouldn't trade that for the world!
Ico and Yorda from ICO!
Even though they don't speak the same language and can't understand each other with words, they manage to build such a delicate and beautiful relationship of trust.
Any 12 year old League of Legends player and your mom! A match make in heaven :V
Now a serious entry, I think the best couple in gaming is Chris Redfield (o Camporojo como lo llamanos en Latam) y Sheva Alomar. Resident Evil 5 has the best CoOp campaign in the series, with some of the best characters in the series, that make it super fun and interesting to play with a friend! Mabye they are over the top and cheese and make you feel that you are part of a Michael Bay movie, but the game still is fun as hell and it's characters diserve a lot of credit for that.
Adell and Rozalin from Disgaea 2. They start off not really trusting each other because of the whole thing about Adell being a human, but, it ends the game being one of my favorite video game couples, and that's just my style!

BreOl72: Wow, that's a good question.

When I started to think about it, I came to the conclusion, that there are quite a lot of good pairs in games, so choosing one over the others is kinda hard.

But I think I will go with: Naia and Naiee, the two brothers from "Brothers - a tale of two brothers".

Why?
Well, because I have a brother, and because we can depend on another, even if we don't always agree on everything. And that game reminded me of that.
And because I played this game with my young son sitting on my lap, helping me play, and I therefore have nice memories connected to it.
A Plagues's Tale: Innocence - with its forthcoming sequel as well - is also a story about two siblings. They will have to fight for their family and things are not always nice between them, because for the younger one is hard to accept the dramatic and horrific turn of events.
Favorite video game pair? I thought for a second, and the answer was apparent: Minsc and Boo!

How could it be anything besides everyone's favorite miniature giant space hamster and his Beloved Ranger protector? They've held a special place in my heart since I first encountered them in the original Baldur's Gate. An atypical ranger using a greatsword rather than a bow or dual wielding, and most likely suffering from brain damage, Minsc initially seems like a goof character that you're never going to use. However, Jim Cummings' voice performance makes him a highlight of the series, and Minsc (plus Boo) is the one companion that has accompanied me on every playthrough of both games. Sure, it limits your alignment and some decisions, but why risk the wrath of Boo?!

I've been thrilled by the recent revival of Minsc and Boo. When I first saw them on the cover of a new IDW comic, I couldn't believe my eyes, but Jim Zub came up with a reasonable (by D&D standards) explanation for their presence in the current Forgotten Realms timeline. Now they get to have more adventures saving nostrils from the foul stench of evil. Since my friend got the Baldur's Gate expansion for the Dungeon Mayhem card game, I've insisted on playing no other character. I've held off of doing Early Access for BG3 because I want to wait until (most of) the bugs are worked out to experience it, but I can't wait for the chance to again meet the loyal ranger Minsc and his hamster companion Boo.
Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong

from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest.

This is the best Donkey Kong Country game of the lot, and it has the best characters too. Diddy has the speed and his girlfriend Dixie has her spinning hair that lets you float. They both have great uses throughout the game so neither one is made to look better than the other, so they really feel a lot more genuine about the two trying to save the game's namesake Donkey Kong... even if they don't say a word!
Jowy and Riou from Suikoden 2.

Not a romantic relationship but a friendship torn by war and destiny. A completely epic story arc and one of my favorite games of all time.

MotherKojiro: Without a doubt, my favorite pair in any video game is Asellus and White Rose from SaGa Frontier. Without spoliing too much, Asellus wakes up in a world completely alien to her, with a culture to match. As she's being introduced to everyone and everything, she meets Princess White Rose, who is to teach her how the denizens of this castle, the mystics, are to conduct themselves. Partially due to White Rose's kindness and its contrast to the standoffish way that the other mystics treat her, they become fast friends, and eventually quite a bit more. Since Asellus hasn't drunk that Kool-Aid yet, she convinces White Rose to escape with her; depending on the version of the game, this is quite an arduous struggle. She tries to reintegrate into human society, but she's physically changed enough that everyone keeps her distance; she's now a child of 2 worlds who belongs in neither. Through all of this, her relationship with White Rose continues to grow, and they both learn an important lesson about how you don't have to fit in to any group, and are free to carve out your own little slice of the cosmos. It's beautiful how the two of them grow and change together over the course of their adventures. It's also noteworthy that not only did this come out in the late '90s, when LGBT relationships in video games were almost nonexistent, but it also wasn't highly sexualized.
SaGa Frontier was one of my favorites as well. +1 for this post.

I believe one of the best couples in gaming is Minsc and Boo from the original Baldur's Gate, the ranger and the miniature giant space hamster has some of the best lines in the game, their charm and goofiness is something you always want to keep on your party. GO FOR THE EYES BOO, GO FOR THE EYES! GRAAAASK!!!!!
Contra: Bill & Lance (^, ^, \/, \/, <, >, <, >, b, a, Select, Start)
It's probably not what you're thinking of but I think the relationship between James Sunderland and Mary in Silent Hill 2 is done really well. While we never meet Mary she is Jame's sole reason for pushing himself through a horror world. Even the backstory of her sickness seemed really realistic for the stress it puts on a relationship and the way it would cause Mary to lash out. The letter Mary wrote to James that you hear at the very end is also absolutely chillingly beautiful and sad.
Well, in terms of non-romantic pairs... V and Johnny Silverhand from Cyberpunk 2077, without ANY doubt. Not only is their relationship some of the most well-written video game storytelling ever, but its storytelling method is innovative as well. I actually made a post about this a while back in the game's forum here on GOG that pretty much summarizes why I absolutely love their relationship:

The narrative style of this game is revolutionary, at least in terms of games. Having a secondary protagonist that is an infamous legend of Night City inside your head but not really inside your head but kinda-sorta... it's not just cerebral but it creates such a deep-seated dilemma (especially near the end of the game) for you, as the player. Why? Because in spite of Silverhand's flaws and extremism, you come to absolutely sympathize with him. At first, he just seems like an edgy rocker punk who wanted to stick it to the system but then you come to realize that he is a visionary, he's sentimental and he's right in so many ways, particularly in regards to what happens when people abuse capitalism and let it get out of control. In his attempt to make a statement, to wake everyone up, he took things too far, which is why he no longer has a corporeal body... yet you find yourself becoming more and more like him. Is it just the chip causing that or are you in total control of your faculties yet finding that you agree with him and see yourself in him?

Then, at the end of the day, you have to ask yourself: can he really be considered a sentient being or is he nothing but the binary that makes up the engram? Is everything he says to you ACTUALLY the engram or is it little more than a vivid hallucination?

That pretty much sums it up. I love how V and Johnny start off as practically being enemies but as the game goes on, they start to develop a friendship that is so well-written that it impacts you in so many ways, emotionally. Keanu's performance really helped make Silverhand feel like someone who you both love and hate... and at the end of the day, he was literally willing to fade away (ironic) to let V have just a few more months to live, if the player chooses such a path. His character progression was absolutely phenomenal, as was V's. Keanu should have won an award for that performance and CDPR absolutely deserved the Outstanding Story-Rich Game Award that they won in the last Steam Awards.

So yeah, V and Johnny Silverhand. Best video game pair ever written, in my honest opinion.
I'd have to say Jade and Pey'j from the "Beyond Good & Evil" game.

Despite being non-playable, the protagonist Jade's uncle Pey'j is a positive guardian / role model figure in Jade's life, whilst encouraging his niece to be the strong independent woman that she is.

Beyond Good & Evil is an awesome and fun little game.

That's an easy one: keyboard + mouse. Thousands and thousands of happy hours through all my life with them :)
