We're holding a Contest to celebrate the new free Couple Update from Haven.

You can now choose between different couples, and it comes with new models, new actors, gendered lines, new assets and more!

To join our Contest, simply comment on the forum, what your favorite video game pair is and why.

We will pick 3 of the best entries and reward them with a key for Haven!
There are some great pairs in tbe world of gaming, Lee and Clementine (Telltale's The Walking Dead), Joe and Ellie (The Last of Us), Marcus and Dom (Gears of War Series), Max and Chloe (Life is Strange), Sonic and Tales, Mario and Luigi among many others I can name, but my favourite is Ico and Yorda, from Ico.
The tenderness and innocence that both protagonist radiate, they come from different worlds, they don't speak the same language, yet through adversity they care for each other. Is lovely to load a save game and see them resting on the bench, how Ico grabs Yordas hand when she's scared and always protect her from the monsters and how Yorda always try to save Ico, even risking her life in the process.
Get to experience a lot of emotions through a screen, from a game that express so little is something amazing and that only is achived with their incredible characters, one of the best couples in all gaming, Ico is a true classic!!!!
Fiona & Rhys - Tales from the Borderlands
Have not played it? I suggest you do
(GOG: You should get it back)
My favorite video game pair would be my favorite detectives from Disco Elysium, Kim Kitsuragi and Harry DuBois :)

It can't be easy to write a compelling side kick when your main character can get up to as many antics as he does, but the team at ZA/UM really blew it out the water making a genuine relationship that subtly grows into a strong bond throughout the game. Kim's dry wit and moderate personality makes for a perfect foil against Harry's "turned up to 11" personality.
This is of course one that is heavily dependent on the way you play the game, but Valerie and Judy in Cyberpunk 2077 stood out to me. In particular, their journey together as they get to know each other better was what really resonated with me from a storytelling perspective.
joel and ellie, All of Joel's efforts to keep Ellie alive, the secrets, the fights, made the two get very close, makes you think about what a person can do to help those they love!
Ranger (Quakeguy) and the rocket launcher.

Whenever Ranger feels down, the RL is always there to give him a boost.
My entry is not a pair of video game characters, but of game makers. John Carmack and John Romero. Their flame burned quickly but it burned so very bright. Their work together was one of my most formative gaming experience.
I am currently playing A Vampyre Story, and the protagonists arre a funny duo of a lady vampire and opera singer Mona de Lafitte, and her unseparable friend bat Froderick. I love their witty comments and comebacks. Mona can turn into a bat herself and the two can flutter around together. Despite this, she doesn't fully accept having died and turned into a vampire, and calls the blood she drinks "salty Merlot". A bit of inspiration comes naturally from the above mentioned Sam & Max!

Well for me the best couple in video games is Geralt de Rivia and his faithful companion Sardinilla since they lived many adventures together until Spoiler the death of sardinilla in the netiflix series fortunately our favorite couple is still together in the video games of the saga, although also It could be said that sentimentally the best couple would be Geralt and Yennefer de Vengerberg, they are eternally united by destiny and they seem really united.

Wow, that's a good question.

When I started to think about it, I came to the conclusion, that there are quite a lot of good pairs in games, so choosing one over the others is kinda hard.

But I think I will go with: Naia and Naiee, the two brothers from "Brothers - a tale of two brothers".

Why?
Well, because I have a brother, and because we can depend on another, even if we don't always agree on everything. And that game reminded me of that.
And because I played this game with my young son sitting on my lap, helping me play, and I therefore have nice memories connected to it.
Emil Castagner & Marta Lualdi from Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World

What makes this paring special in my eyes is how well their dynamic is handled. From Marta being confronted for putting Emil on a pedestal and vowing to try seeing him for his real self, to Emil realizing he can't rely on his alter-ego to solve his problems (esp. where Marta's concerned), both are presented as flawed individuals who need to better themselves before a relationship could work. Their romance becomes the natural conclusion to their character arcs as a result─a feat rarely seen in gaming at the time.

As a side note, the party’s reaction to their fights is amazing; really pulls off that ‘witnessing a trainwreck with your besties as the conductors’ vibe.

Bayonetta its one of my favorite games and i have always enjoyed the friendship and rivalry between Bayo and Jeanne!
They both are really awesome
Without a doubt, my favorite pair in any video game is Asellus and White Rose from SaGa Frontier. Without spoliing too much, Asellus wakes up in a world completely alien to her, with a culture to match. As she's being introduced to everyone and everything, she meets Princess White Rose, who is to teach her how the denizens of this castle, the mystics, are to conduct themselves. Partially due to White Rose's kindness and its contrast to the standoffish way that the other mystics treat her, they become fast friends, and eventually quite a bit more. Since Asellus hasn't drunk that Kool-Aid yet, she convinces White Rose to escape with her; depending on the version of the game, this is quite an arduous struggle. She tries to reintegrate into human society, but she's physically changed enough that everyone keeps her distance; she's now a child of 2 worlds who belongs in neither. Through all of this, her relationship with White Rose continues to grow, and they both learn an important lesson about how you don't have to fit in to any group, and are free to carve out your own little slice of the cosmos. It's beautiful how the two of them grow and change together over the course of their adventures. It's also noteworthy that not only did this come out in the late '90s, when LGBT relationships in video games were almost nonexistent, but it also wasn't highly sexualized.
I would say Rosangela and Joey from The Blackwell series is my favorite video game pair.

Their relationship was essential to make the series what it is, and it was really interesting to see how they became closer as the series progressed, especially considering that they didn't like each other so much at first (they were kind of forced to stick together, after all).

The epic ending of the series with Blackwell Epiphany just wouldn't be the same without this equally epic pair.
