Ganni1987: Looks like a nice game, haven't heard about it before. The kickstarter page has me confused though with "Chapter 1" written all over the place, do they mean chapters as in Diablo style or Episodic releases?

I'm hoping the answer is "Diablo style" and if so this might be an insta buy when released.
Looks like it's Diablo style (if you mean what I think you mean :D):
Storytelling is really important for us. When you reach chapter 2 in the game, (we will have 5 chapters in the final game) you will be able to choose from 3 guilds to join[,,,]

akhliber: Okay, I feel a bit silly now. I went on about how intuitive everything seems, but I just now realized I have a "pet" option on my UI for telling the dog (or current companion) to follow / auto-attack / etc.

Also, I still haven't figured out where to get a lock for repairing the starting house. The smith sells the nails and door handles, so I'm hoping it's just a crafting recipe I have yet to figure out. I was convinced Grandpa had told me to purchase one from the smith. I need to figure out how spending skill points works as well.
There's a lot I've got to figure out, but I'm really excited about this game. I have a feeling I'll be sinking a lot of hours into this one.
You do buy the lock from the smith. But if you search the barrels outside your house, you might find a little surprised. ;)
If you go to a trainer like the woodsman or the smith and you've managed to max your skill level in mining, say, you can talk to the smith and spend that skill point to go up a level.
Any way I can get the beta if I didn't kickstart it? This game looks very cool, as I am into deep rpgs, and realistic survival games.

For some reason, the devs seem to be very lax in that area. They haven't got PayPal up on their site, and that seems to be the only realistic way to get the game without having been in the Kickstarter. They did have it up for a while after the Kickstarter ended, but they took it down again. I suspect that because they're such a tiny studio, they're concentrating everything on finishing the game and then they'll think about marketing and launching to the general public.

I'm glad to see that this got funded, and that development is still continuing, as the game looks brilliant! :)
Considering what Balrum seems to be aiming to be, I'm gonna go ahead and throw out a recommendation for UnReal World, a (free) roleplaying game that has been in development for over a decade. It has a really basic art style (reminiscent of the Spiderweb Software games) but the world itself (lore, mechanics, etc) is incredibly rich and detailed, it even includes hunger and thirst as mechanics.
This looks like Dink Smallwood.
Never heard of this, looks promising but only 50k and from 2013? Uhm... I hope that they release the game but i don't have faith...
Looks pretty interesting.

Unfortunately, the estimated release date, September 2014, has come and gone; and there are only two comments from the devs since June. The most recent dev comment is from October; and they say, "We are working on a massive update!". So it looks like the overdue game's final release may not be imminent.

Hopefully it gets released (and SOON™ considering it's overdue) - and THEN we can see if it delivers what was promised and if it has "GOG potential".

I still have faith. :)
I did back this during their Kickstarter, and although their communication skills are non-existent, it does seem that they're working on the game. Each update to the beta has been quite substantial in that they've ironed out the reported bugs and added new content.
So, I gather they are reading their forums' bug reports, they're just not replying to anything.
So, I'm happy to wait the few more months they say they need to complete the game.

As I've said, the beta is big!
Hopefully, someone with a Youtube channel can put a Let's Play of the beta and show everyone else what it's like. :)

Have a look at their latest update dated 1st November - they've done quite a bit...
Now, excuse me, I'm going to go hunt me some bear! And spiders. And deer. :P

Well, i hope that you're right, by now they should be on that Early Acess system so that they can continue to get funding for the game, i don't want them to stop halfway because they run out of cash.
Tell me something, does the game has some kind of story element or is it the usual survival game (you're dropped in some place, build, farm, craft your stuff and live your own adventure)?

From what I've seen thus far, it feels more like an RPG than a survival / crafting game, though it incorporates these things quite well. It feels like a living, breathing world and is quite fun to explore. The lore comes from dialogue and quests, as well as notes and letters you find throughout the game. I've touched on crafting a bit, but I haven't even taken a look at the house-building and such yet.

Ah, so it was the "door handle" I needed. Thanks! I finally made a point to explore at night, and wow, I like this game even more now. With a little polish, this game is really going to shine.

Uhm, i have to say that it's intriguing, i can't imagine a normal rpg with the survival crafting system. Is it open world? Does the house have some kind of purpose (protecting against enemies or just a place to drop stuff)?
