I also got stuck at 92% and used the instruction in the SOLVED post, which seemed like it solved the issue, but now the launcher says the data is corrupted an Verify/Repair doesn't work at all.

I started downloading the offline installation files, but I'm afraid I won't be able to get a refund if I do that...

EDIT: I didn't finish the offline installation download, but I managed to fix the issue. I used the Larion launcher information about what file was causing the corruption, it said one file that was just name (random numbers and letters) without extension. I took a risk and deleted it and now the launcher doesn't have any problem and the game seems to run fine, although I didn't get through character creation yet.

EDIT: It worked for me, I'm now playing without any issue.

I asked for a refund. I tried to DL the "backup" but the page layout is so broken you cannot access to all of the 4GB files, it does not scroll down enough.

Can't download it either. :( I already tried the solution but it didn't work for me.
It's great that GOG exists but those things must not happen!

UPDATE 1: I tried it again and it worked now.

UPDATE 2: Verifying the game got me stuck at the exact same spot as before (92 %). :-/

Same problem here, and it's not the first time Galaxy has messed up. Honestly I usually regret getting modern games on Gog, because the launcher has some serious problems (like this, and that fun time when any game that showed up in the launcher got corrupted, somehow). For smaller games it's no problem, but downloading something like 40 large files in the browser is ... not fun, and much slower than the launcher.

I want to really like Gog, but stuff like this makes it hard.

You can use Galaxy to easily download the offline installer in the Extras section after you click on the game. It's usually reliable when downloading Extras, in comparison to how much it fucks up when directly downloading a game.

at first i wanted to get this game on steam but thought that the getting it on GOG would be, well, a way to show my appreciation for all the nice stuff I got super cheap from GOG over the years. A bit disappointed by how this has been handled, finally managed to download the offline installer, will try that and see if that works. And sorry for my rants...

I tried the solution in the "Solved" comment and it yells at me about a data mismatch now.

EDIT 1: Forget it, the game downloaded but on launching it closes after a few seconds. Now I want to cry so badly

This is not "solved." The company responsible for providing this software (which we paid for) has not fixed the issue or even acknowledged it.

The work around posted here allows me to download the game, which promptly freezes when it begins to load.

This is happening to me too. Nothing seems to fix it. I'm just going to request a refund and get it from Steam. GOG for the epic fail

first quit gog,
delete gustav.pak.state
rename gustav.pak.download to gustav.pak
delete game.pak.state
rename game.pak.download to game.pak
delete in Baldurs Gate 3 folder the .hashdb and the other temp file but not the folders or .info files.
