2 days after my last post, still no reaction from gog support. Sent them another mail. including a question if that way of conducting business and level of customer care (none so far) is typical for gog.

From my side, they get until tomorrow. If there is no reply or product to download (that they took my money for already last thursday) without delivering their part of the sale or any response for a whole week, I will refund and move to steam. Never looking back to gog.

Kearf: The Egosoft Team is aware of this situation and do their best as far as i can tell from this forum thread on their own website.

https://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=146&t=463205

I can also understand that it is a lot of work to prepare different clients for download.
Lets just be patient. As long as we do get the new version in a reasonable time frame, i am happy.
Given this topic also mentions no steam update it sounds like it's at least partially Egosoft's fault this time. Unfortunate but yeah. I just wanna play...
Hope you get straight 7.00 Hotfix 1 for Linux as that seems be released for Windows in GOG today.

g04tn4d0: I like how GOG support has no idea what they're talking about and no one from GOG has even bothered to pop in here real quick to give an explanation and/or status update.
Yes, it leaves a bad aftertaste.
Even after this fiasco, i still prefer the offline installer native Linux version over steam.

I am also not very happy with Linux, but i still prefer it over Windows. :-)

Have a nice day everyone.
I wrote the support like 4 hours ago and already got a reply. They forwarded my message "to the appropriate department in order to investigate what is the current status [...] and asked for the new version of the game to be released ASAP"

We will see...

Yeah, I finally got a reply this morning, too. It's basically telling me stuff I already know... that they're, as Robocop would say, having trouble. But at least they wrote back. It's whatever at this point. I'll check it out next weekend or something and just play something else.
Feel like I should have looked on the forum before buying it on GoG. Thinking surely a week after the update it must be fine - lol nope. Still 6.20 for the Linux download and the expansion isn't even available at all.
Perhaps the person doing the Linux installers is on holiday, or their Linux machine is broken.
Hopefully we'll have better luck next week, as this week ends without the expected update for Linux users.
They have had enough time to respond so I've requested a refund, including the soundtrack.

I no longer trust gog to:
a) write truthful descriptions
b) not package tracking crap
c) not strip LAN features out of games
d) provide adequate support
e) not get lost in their galaxy fantasy

Because of the above, I'm considering closing my gog account.

I also just refunded. All your points are valid.

Over a week after lunch and still no 7.0 update or timelines DLC to download. Plus, no response at all from support on my initial message last Friday or my additional one on Wednesday (same ticket).

Good thing, X4 is on sale on steam right now. I am off and away from gog. Still hoping for the rest that you don't have to wait too long anymore!

Very tempting... I don't think I'd mind buying the whole lot a second time because I like Egosoft as a company. This is painful... I avoid DRM out of principle but I feel gog are no longer gog.

Another annoying behaviour of theirs is that they often update the games in my library without updating the changelogs.

ExSign: Would you know whether Steam has v7.0 available (in real life) for Linux?

Truth be told... I have started to appreciate indie game devs that put up their own installer/packages... (like Rimworld or Factorio). Cuts out the middleman :)

Mainstream games certainly are a race to the bottom.
