Crewdroog: Soooo, I just started playing this insanely addictive game a couple of days ago. Here's a pic of my tower. Please note the black grave stone where I went splat after falling. Didn't know you could take fall damage. Whoops. :)

WingedKagouti: Just know that falling into a deep enough pool of water prevents falling damage.
Thank you. I also just found the magic flying carpet, so that is helping too.
I have discovered how to make stained glass. The pattern is rudimentary right now, but I hope to get more creative as I find more gemstones.

After spending a few days tunneling into hell, I decided to halt exploring for now (got killed by Tim) and resume building. I have the shell of my castle done. I have various woods placed where I am going to put more stained glass, but I can't choose what color I like. I was hoping one of the stains would be darker.

Haha, Tim is an ass.
I like your castle. Have you considered gemspark walls? (I think I may be a little too fond of those.)

hey crackpot! Long time no see :)

I have not considered gemspark walls. I tried incorporating them into my stained glass, but it was too contrasting. I will try it. I may also try some tin, seeing as I have a huge, unused supply of it. My home is probably gonna be torn down and rebuilt a lot. I already had to once cause I forgot to measure for the door opening, whoops.

Greetings! I was busy conquering Russia and helping out Germany (ironically) when everyone was picking on Bismarck.

Yeah they can seem a little out of place, unfortunately. I still try to integrate them almost everywhere.
Metal walls and bricks look surprisingly nice, imo. There are just too many materials that would make for pretty buildings!

Yes! I feel like a kid again with her Lego set. So many ideas, and I know I haven't come close to unlocking all the building materials. And now I have vendors coming by with their pretty baubles. I just created another smaller world that I hope to completely exploit for it's resources. I'm a monster ;)

Crackpot.756: Seeing buildings change is interesting. And you'll have screenshots to look back to once your hotel has grown into a gigantic underground hideout!

Hm here's a floating Dryad island during Blood Moon. Don't mind the hideous cloud.
Ah, I see what you are doing with the gemspark stones. I will have to keep this in mind. Those are the gemspark stones, yes?

Heh, no. That's a reasonable thing to do. I didn't create a new world, I just stop by the oldest, now unused, occasionally.

Yes, the colored light they give off is so pretty. I use them as light source substitutes sometimes. :>

If it were just a question of what materials to use but no. No matter how much I try to plan ahead regarding the size of buildings, they're just never enough. Granted, I've never built anything massive. Except for that one glass globe maybe.

Your house is great! Are those animals you have collected?? We can collect animals? Oh noes, this does not bode well for me.... Glass globe? I would like to see that. It sounds awesome!

Yes, with the bug net, you can basically catch anything that moves (as long as it's not trying to rip your face off). There are still more, I already have them but I've been lazy with that place.
Maybe some time soon I can tear myself away from Civ V and piece together a shot of the incomplete globe (it doesn't even have walls everywhere yet), it doesn't quite fit on my screen. o_°

Thank you, I will try this program out. I've never needed to use anything like this before.

Cheers. It's basically an open source Photoshop clone. It can be complex when you need it to be, but it's simple enough to use for easy things. Just don't be intimidated by the interface. (Can someone who unleashes a T-Rex be intimidated?)
