I've fixed up the Return to the UNN fan mission, anyone wanting to try out a slightly different SS2-like experience is welcome to give it a go (also hoping that all the wonky bits I might have missed will be found).

Is there any fan mission that doesn't suck and/or contain god awful voice acting?
I can only comment on those I've played (or fixed up) - Return to the UNN actually has decent voice acting, not great but quite ok, doesn't make you cringe or anything (well, mostly). Minstrel has no voice acting, for better or worse. Christine's missions, while being an awesome piece of editor work (especially when considering they were all built in the old, non-NewDark editor, which can make mass murderers cry like little girls), indeed do have some voice overs that sometimes make you wish there weren't any.

gameplay-wise, RttUNN is a solid piece of SS2 experience, especially now that the AI ecologies finally work. Christine's missions are really good as well. did not play enough Minstrel to draw conclusions.

and we have a new version of NewDark.
Is it part of ss2tool?
not yet, as far as I know. it usually takes a few days to update everything.

//ok, it's in now.

Bought System Shock 2 in current promo. ss2tool isn't working for me, attached a screenshot. It just gets stuck at that point, I tried searching the internet but couldn't find a fix for it. I also installed the latest patch on GOG before trying to install ss2tool. And I'm running it inside the game folder which is at default GOG Games location. I appreciate any help in this matter.

there should be a ss2tool.log in your SS2 folder, do post it.

Okay, here. I had to end rsync process after 5 minutes so that the program would close and ss2tool.log is created. Install gets stuck after SHOCK.BND line and if rsync is killed then it gets stuck again at downloading blue mod manager. Only killing rsync makes it finish. I waited for 10-15 minutes at both points before but there was no progress.

Thank you for responding to my request for help.

maybe your firewall is not allowing the tool through properly? try adding an exception.

My firewall is off, turned it off completely after seeing this problem. But still, no change.
ok, time to take it to our helpdesk and let Kolya have a look.

Oh, I just did a search there. Apparently someone else had the same problem, and there is no solution so far. I guess I'll have to play vanilla for now. Thank you for trying to help me.
try v5.3. at the moment, it will install all the required stuff, and it uses a different method of syncing, so it will probably work.

Thank you very much, that worked. Btw am I missing out anything by being on an older version?
