It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Haha, yeah, it's a bit strange I know. I'm just bothered by the updated ones. They're less diffuse and therefore not as scary to me, and they also make it looks like the Von Braun is crewed by one man cloning himself to infinity. The old ones atleast look so beat up that they reasonably could have looked completely different when human.

Worked like a charm! Thanks, thanks again and even more thanks =D
Hey, everyone! I bought this on sale and am interested in starting to play it.

This mod guide is great, but I'm a little confused about one thing: Does the current GOG version of SS2 already have some of these mods installed? It seems like it might based on the game's ability to load in 1920 x 1080. And does this version need ss2tool or does GOG's patch do the same thing?

Thanks for the answers!
GOG version has no mods, but it uses the updated engine. you will need ss2tool (or blue mod manager) to install mods.

This question has haunted me since the day SS2 got on GOG:
Should every mod go into the PermanentMod folder, regardless of what each mods readme says?

I feel that everytime I install the mods listed here I'm doing something terribly wrong...
at this point, I would really recommend using the blue mod manager, especially if you are using more (2+) mods. and yeah, the note about most mod readmes being outdated still applies (most would tell you drop files directly into the SS2 folder, which is a mother of all bad ideas today).

I knew it! Yet I did what the readme's said. Thanks for heads up
I can't get the Rebirth cutscene to work.
I'm loading it in Blue's Mod Manager but it says ir's unrecognized.
Perhaps my loading order is wrong? I'll attach a screenshot.

the cutscene needs to be in cutscene_rebirth\cutscenes folder to work. check the filepath. also, I would recommend decreasing ADaoB's priority all the way down - if you are using a gamesys mod (ADaoB), generally you will want the visual enhancements to sit on top of it.

I'll do that. Thanks!
Edit: the cutscene already lies in that path...

may be a genuine bug then. report it in the orig topic.
Will do.
Found a new tutorial for installing system shock 1 in case anyone's interested:

Regarding gamesys, should every gamesys (no matter what purpose they serve) be the least prioritised?
generally, yes, you want all the eyecandy on top of the gamesys mod.
