Update 1.4.2а update Hot-Fix is now available

Ahoy, sailors!

A hotfix for different issues is already here, and your travels through the Midnight Isles will become more smooth. Now all achievements will rightfully go to the courageous captains, and game will not crash at the very beginning of your journey.

Miscellaneous

- Some islands did not reset after player characters leaving. Resolution: fixed;

- The game sometimes crashed when the player's characters were sent to the first island. Resolution: fixed;

- Fixed the achievements.

A new update, 1.4.3k has arrived! We’ve fixed the cutscene with Thall the Wallflower and the inquisitors, some issues with the 3rd DLC islands; prices, and the assortment of abyssal merchants, and some mechanical bugs as well.

Please keep in mind that a new update can potentially break your mods, but 1.3.7 version is still available in the beta branch!

MAC game version UPDATE 1.4.4c for macOS ONLY

Hello, crusaders!

Today we finally have good news for those who play on macOS! The new 1.4.4c update fixes the issues we have previously mentioned in Windows updates, and allows you to play The Treasure of the Midnight Isles DLC.

We apologize we couldn’t upload this patch sooner, we will do our best to avoid such delays in the future.

If you play on Windows, please keep in mind that this update is only available for macOS, and contains the changes you already have. The version of the game won’t change for you!

Hello, crusaders!

We’ve prepared a hot-fix 1.4.3l (1.4.4d for macOS) with some very important changes:

- Firstly, we’ve fixed the issue with Chinese font. We apologize to our Chinese players for the inconvenience, and we are working on a plan to prevent such issues from happening in the future;

- Secondly, we’ve listened to your feedback regarding the Treasure of the Midnight Isles DLC, and you’ve provided some very convincing arguments why the Last Azlanti mode should be optional. So, if you start a new game in the rogue-like mode, you can opt out of Last Azlanti, and have multiple saves. However, please keep in mind that to get a tailwind for the next party, you still need to let your current party perish. More changes for the DLC are planned in the next updates.

- We’ve also fixed a snowy island in the rogue-like mode that could cause the game to crash, so if you encountered this issue, you can continue playing now.

Update 1.4.4g is here! Now, when you start the Treasure of the Midnight Isles DLC, you will see an option to disable the Sink or Swim Mode. This is how we decided to name the Last Azlanti-like mode, where you can use the Abyssal anchors to make a save. If you want to save any time or to have as many saves as you want, please disable this option. We’ve also fixed the issue with the turn-based mode getting stuck.


If you are playing with mods, don’t forget to update them before loading your saves!

- After finishing the 3rd DLC in the integration mode, the quest was still active in the journal – fixed;

- Your companions now arrive faster when you and Greybor confront Horzalah during his personal quest.

- A mimic trader could appear on the ship earlier than it was supposed to – fixed;

- Fixed a trap in the 3rd DLC integration mode to make it more comfortable to disarm;

- Fixed an entry and an exit point on one of the 3rd DLC islands;

- Fixed the lighting in the Scrubland by a Bend in the River;

- Various fixed for the traps in the 3rd DLC;

- Now it's possible to teleport to a balcony in the Alushinyrra house you visit during Woljif's quest.


Items

- Robe of False Death used the wrong equipment slot (an armor slot instead of the shirt slot) – fixed;

- Shadow bosses in the 3rd DLC now drop unique items instead of money.


Classes & Mechanics


- Fixed the interaction of Boundless Healing with some spells;

- It was possible to deal infinite amount of damage to your enemies, combining some items and abilities, such as Aspect of the Asp and Treacherous Flame – fixed;

- Very strong versions of Elemental Pillars spawned on low tier Islands with Elemental Undertow. Resolution: the difficulty of Elemental Pillars now scales depending on the tier.


Visual


- Fixed fog of war in the 3rd DLC dungeons, which obscured the view at the end of the stairs;

- Fixed the way characters were holding Cold Iron Masterwork Heavy Mace.


Misс

- Fixed the crash when trying to enter a specific island in the Treasure of the Midnight Isles DLC;

- In some rare cases, Daeran simply refused to die – fixed;

- In the Treasure of the Midnight Isles DLC, the Helmsman never cleared the deck from the dead bodies, even after inviting a new party on board – fixed, now he throws the bodies into Ishiar;

A major update 2.0.0z has arrived! It contains optimization fixes, various UI and quality of life improvements for the Enhanced Edition, controller support, new photo mode, new quest for the Legend mythic path, additional epilogue slides and a number of improvements for the Treasure of the Midnight Isles DLC.

Areas

- During Woljif's quest in the 3rd chapter, it was impossible to disarm a trap in one location – fixed;

- In Drezen, one of the entrances to the citadel has been moved to a more accessible location;

- Additional optimization fixes should improve the performance in multiple areas.

Classes & Mechanics

- Armor Training now gives the correct Dexterity bonus allowed by armor;

- Dragon Discple now can add spells from Nature Mage, Eldritch Font and Unlettered Arcanist archetype to their spellbook (retraining is required);

- Eldritch Font (an Arcanist archetype) now can cast the 10th level spells, if they have chosen the Lich mythic path;

- Green Faith is now available to the main character!

- In the Treasure of the Midnight Isles DLC, the number of expeditions between tiers has been reduced. Now after defeating The Songbird party is no longer reset;

- Shielding Tailwind granted AC bonus to any character and disappeared after retraining in the Treasure of the Midnight Isles DLC – fixed. Now it grants AC bonus only to shield-wielding characters and stays after retraining;

- Some bosses in The Treasure of the Midnight Isles DLC with immunity to Trickster's persuasion were not completely immune – fixed;

- The Delay Poison spell now blocks the effects of the Death Throes ability;

- The Dragon Disciple prestige class can now interact with the arcanist archetype Eldritch Font spellbook;

- The circumstance bonuses from Glasses of Unspeakable Truth and Robe of Unspeakable Truth have been fixed;

- When the type of elemental damage is changing to a different element, it also changes the descriptor now;

- Spellbooks and caster levels now work correctly with different prestige classes combinations.

Turn-based mode

- Fear effect could cause freezes when changing turns – fixed;

- Horzalah has a portrait in the initiative order now.

UI

- Fixed the animation for caster classes in the inventory;

- If you want to play with a controller, make sure it’s connected to your PC when you launch the game, it will allow you to continue playing with it;

- The animal companion’s health bar is now displayed above the owner’s portrait. Click on it to open the animal companion’s own portrait and see all the active status effects;

- A search option in now available in the inventory;

- In the battle log, you can scroll to the bottom with a single click now, and also see more information about the damage and healing numbers;

- In the inventory, it’s possible to customize the colors of your armor now;

- Photo mode is now available from the Esc menu.

Visual

- Animations in the first cutscene have been improved;

- Camera didn't properly hide the objects on bookshelves in Gwerm's Mansion when zooming in – fixed;

- Fixed objects blocking the camera view in Defender's Heart area;

- Fixed the incorrect movement of flags, hanging on the walls in Drezen Throne Room;

- Fixed the issue with lighting in Mage's Tower;

Undertow in the Treasure of the Midnight Isles DLC. Skynet shall not pass!

- Wild Magic Undertow no longer affects potions in The Treasure of the Midnight Isles DLC;

- Armor reforge becomes available now via a special golem NPC. You can encounter it starting at chapter 1. In later chapters, it will be delivered to your throne room;

- Some mythic paths got additional reinforcements in chapter 5;

- The epilogues have been enhanced;

- The Legend mythic path got a new quest, which becomes available in chapter 5, after Wilcer Garms visits you in the throne room.

Remember to update all Mods to continue playing saved games that used said MODS...

We’ve fixed Aivu’s memory leak, which made her forget you have named your Azata court already.

You won’t be trapped in Enigma anymore.

Swarm that Walks can fully control its clones again.

Dropped items won’t disappear after reloading your saved game anymore.

Greybor no longer misses the fight with Darrazand, as a true professional should.


Known issues:

When you start a new game, your animal companion may not appear in the UI at first. Save and reload to fix this.

Hello, crusaders!

A quick hot-fix 2.0.1e is available now:

- If an island boss previously didn't appear on their island in The Treasure of the Midnight Isles DLC, they will appear now;

- Island bosses in the Treasure of the Midnight Isles DLC no longer drop duplicates of quest items;

- Some islands in the Treasures of the Midnight Isles DLC, when playing in the integration mode in the main campaign, could be totally empty – fixed;

- Table and chairs have been returned to the heroes' party in the Defender's Heart;

- Fixed the issue with the invisible NPCs in the flashback cutscene after the interaction with the Wardstone;

- Arcanists couldn't memorize spells, when playing with a controller – fixed.

Update 2.0.1h is now available


Hello, crusaders!

We’ve released a fix 2.0.1h for the problem which affected multiple quests. After the 2.0 update, some players reported an issue, that a quest wouldn’t progress, if they had to kill a number of specific enemies, but saved and reloaded the game in the process. This could happen during the Gwerm Family Secrets quest (couldn’t signal to Horgus), in the Tower of Estrod (after killing the cultists and demons), and during the siege of Drezen (not being able to open the final gates). This update fixes this issue and prevents it from happening in other quests. If you've encountered this in Gwerm mansion or the Tower of Estrod, exit the location and re-enter again to proceed.

However, if this issue has already happened on your playthrough with a different quest, and you’ve sent us a bug report, we will fix it in the future updates. Or you may load an earlier save, to avoid running into this bug.

Highlights of the 2.0.2c patch update:

The weather is back! Prepare your umbrella and vescavor repellent spray. And turning on photomode no longer starts the rain.

In The Treasures of the Midnight Isles DLC, the next party you create after losing the previous one will find an item from the previous team in the chest. And we’ve also fixed the achievements (see below).

Sounds from trickery checks will stop haunting you now.

If you are playing with the controller, you can skip time now and hire armies after a total defeat.

We’ve fixed the bleeding infusion for Blood Kineticists and the number of spells for the Eldritch Fonts.

Vital Strike is also fixed now.

And finally, the Commander is no longer trapped on the island in The Treasure of the Midnight Isles DLC!

- Changed the class of Backstabbin' Bixie island boss in The Treasure of the Midnight Isles DLC from Slayer to Alchemist;

- Changing the type of spell's elemental damage now correctly adds the DC from feats that affect the said element;

- Clerics of Asmodeus can use a mace in the name of Asmodeus now, like they are proficient with it;

- Damage Reduction doesn't stack anymore now if there's more than one source of it; instead, the highest number of DR is selected, like in tabletop version;

- Eldritch Font now gets the correct number of spells per day (once spell more per level than a regular arcanist);

- Fixed the bonus calculation when performing a combat maneuver. Now it counts any bonuses from unarmed attacks. If the maneuver was performed via a special attack (such as Trip (Bite attack), for example), the bonuses from this attack will be used;

- Fixed the incorrect stacking for the Perfect Form ability;

- Fixed the return of Ashen Curse status after saving and reloading. Now it will no longer return after you removed it from the character and saved;

- Impervious Tailwind provided benefits to every class – fixed, now it only empowers the classes listed in its description;

- Paladin's Celestial Divine Mount now gets smite evil at 11th level;

- Psychotic Undertow forced the caster to make a Will saving throw for each charge of Magic Missile – fixed, now characters make only one Will save for this spell;

- Retriever's Eye Rays (Petrification) no longer instantly kills, but instead requires a Fortitude saving throw, as expected;

- Shake It Off team feat now works correctly. It has a proper radius of effect now, and will be displayed in the battle log;

- Tailwind of Gnomish Fortune works correctly now: you get 5.000 gold for creating a gnome character, and each gnome in the party reduces the prices by 10%;

- The Nails feat now allows shamans and witches to use their sharp nails instead of fists to deal damage when they are unarmed;

- Unholy Dispel of Zombie attempted to dispel all the effects, instead of just one – fixed;

- Vital Strike now works correctly with the dice size modifications;

- Weapon Proficiency (Flail) didn't display for the characters who had it – fixed;

- Zippy Magic now properly works with the touch spells, like cure wounds;

- The Extra Bombs feat works with the Arcane Bomber archetype now.


UI


- Added the option to skip time when playing with a controller;

- Animal companions are no longer displayed as party members, if you are in the location where they are not present, or if you can't control them;

- Bonuses (when executing combat maneuvers, for example) and saving throws were displayed incorrectly in the battle log – fixed;

- Fixed the combat text (above the characters in battle) for saving throws. Previously, a bonus from the ability scores wasn't included in the number on the right. On the left, we still see a pure dice roll result, and on the right, the number can't be higher than 20;

- Fixed the issue with animal companion icon not showing in some situations (in the caves under Kenabres, for example);

- Fixed the localization in the defeat window in The Treasure of the Midnight Isles DLC;

- For the controller interface, added a button to interact with Shamira;

- A number of visual effects has been optimized;

- After a party wipe in the Treasures of the Midnight Isles DLC, the new party will find a single random item inside the chest, left from the previous treasure hunters;

- After completing a full standalone run of The Treasure of the Midnight Isles DLC, you didn't get a free mercenary on the new run – fixed;

- Fixed the achievement ID for the achievements Ride the Wind, Windcatcher, and Windmaster, and now they will properly unlock;

- Fixed the issue, when the chain in The Treasure of the Midnight Isles DLC stopped responding to the attempts to interact with it;

- Camellia couldn't cast cleric or inquisitor spells because of the alignment issue – fixed;

- Fixed the issue with Azata's Life-Bonding Friendship, which prevented it from working sometimes. Additionally, fixed the removal of teamwork feats when the allies stood farther than 50 ft from the Azata.

UI

- For the controller, the AoE abilities radius didn't disappear, even when the ability was no longer selected – fixed;

- For the controller when exiting photomode while in turn-based mode, the compass could appear – fixed;

- Inventory context menu could remain active when switching to another interface window – fixed;

- On the character creation screen, when selecting a god, the pointer to the currently selected god could start to twitch – fixed;

- The cursor wasn't able to interact with some UI elements, like door overtips etc.– fixed;

An update 2.0.4j is here! And it contains a lot of useful fixes and improvements.

Highlights:

- Numerous fixes for Azata’s abilities and spells;

- Radiance now dispels magic much more effectively;

- Mighty Charge allows to select the combat maneuver to perform and it won’t provoke the attack of the opportunity anymore;

- Witches and shamans will stop casting evil eye on their friends now;

- Fixed the order of windows in the UI when playing with the controller, and they won’t be opening below each other anymore;

- We rolled back on the background sound fix, so when the game is out of focus, it will keep quiet now.

- Mythic Demon can return to Blackwater now, if they were summoned while resting in there. Additionally, you won't be summoned from that dungeon anymore. Sleep soundly!

- On a treasure island in the 3rd DLC it was impossible to disarm a trap while mounted – fixed;

- On Martyr Zacharius's Cemetery, it was possible to trigger the cutscene in the ruined chapel twice – fixed;

- Stone golems under the Lost Chapel will slow down your characters now instead of being slow themselves and doing nothing.

Quests

A Refuge from the Present quest could start in chapter 5 even if you never visited Old Sarkorian Mines in chapter 3. If you have encountered this issue already, the quest will automatically fail;
Added Irabeth's reactions to the fate of the Through The Ashes characters;
Fixed the chain of events during the Pharasma's Wrath quest for Mythic Lich;
In case of Regill's death, a cut scene of Hellknights arrival to Drezen could break – fixed.

Turn-based mode
Turn-based mode could hang on the turn of a character that was recently resurrected – fixed.

Items
Fixed the ability of Radiance to dispel magic, now it correctly considers character's level as caster level for the sake of dispel magic.

Crusade
Generals were missing some spells in battle – fixed;
When enabling the auto crusade mode, all crusade quests will be removed from the journal.

Classes & Mechanics
Auto level-up was not available when choosing a pregenerated character in the Inevitable Excess DLC – fixed;
Azata became slightly less friendly, and no longer gives the enemies teamwork feats with Life-Bonding Friendship;
Changing the type of spell's elemental damage now correctly adds the DC from feats that affect the said element;
Deskari's Rasping Armor ability now works correctly (we convinced him to rasp louder, so everyone could hear, and not just those under his belly);
Dragonheir Scion's Dazzling Display is a standard action now, and won't disappear forever after character's death;
During the boss battle with the Songbird, he HP could track incorrectly, and as the result, the cutscene wouldn't trigger – fixed;
Enemies with immunity to the prone condition now can be affected by Hideous Laughter spell;
Fiery Body and Iron Body spells now work with Brown-Fur Transmuter;
Fixed multiple Azata spells: Field of Flowers now works according to its description, Believe In Yourself now has correct duration, Water Push now works correctly, Nature’s Grasp now deals the right damage, Repulsive Nature now works as described and has an increased radius of 40 feet; Friendly Hug now provides immunity to mind-affecting spells, Sudden Squall now affects the enemies and prevents them from casting spells; Burst of Sonic Energy now works correctly, can be used with metamagic, and doesn't harm the Azata; Winds of the Fall spell now works correctly and applies the intoxication effect; Water Torrent now works correctly, and the targeting has been improved; Unbreakable Bond now provides correct immunities to mind-affecting, charm, fear, compulsion, emotion, shaken, confusion effects.
Fixed the crashing when Charge was used together with Demonic Rage;
Fixed the second stage of the final boss battle in chapter 6: ;
Flying Time Undertow will no longer stay on the character that left your party before the whole group left the island. If you have encountered this issue already, add the affected character to the group and finish the island;
Green Faith (Druid philosophy) got a new symbol and now allows not only true neutral alignment, but any neutral alignment as well. Also fixed the icon and the description for Camellia;
Hunter Tactics and several other feats that make the character share some of their own feats with the animal companion were stealing those feats from the animal companion, if the animal obtained them by itself. Resolution: fixed. You may need to retrain the animal companion to get those feats back, but they will stay now.
Mighty Charge now allows to pick a combat maneuver to perform (or not to perform) and no longer provokes the attack of opportunity with the chosen combat maneuver;
Nahyndri has become slightly more powerful with mythic saving throws, immunity to sickened condition, and some additional buffs on higher difficulty levels;
Now Bless spell ignores spell resistance on allied targets;
Overwhelming Soul's Overwhelming Power now properly scales the attack and damage bonuses with level up;
Protection from Arrows spell protected not only from ranged weapons, but from some magic as well – fixed;

Hot-Fix 2.0.4k Update

Hello, crusaders!

We've noticed a rather nasty bug after the last update: when loading a save from the game, or upon exiting to main menu, a critical error could occur. But now it's fixed, just update to version 2.0.4k.
