Gyrofalcon: To be short; If the Studio would force you to update to a version of the game, full of micro transactions and pay-to-win, they are entitled to. By the EUAL. Only way to prevent it, is not to update. Yes, you will loose access to online servers, etc. But EUAL is there to make sure that you are the on loosing money, not the Studio or Publisher.
Hi Gyrofalcon,
sorry to have quoted someone else (Nipsen) instead of you in my last post, also please be sure that I didn't want to contrast you in a big way, but i'll ask you now: what is your point exactly ? The 'Studio' (I guess you mean Hello Games?) is not forcing you to update anything, neither is GOG, the re-seller of the game, forcing you to do anything. If you want you can play NMS with version 1.02 if you want to (one of the first releases if I'm not wrong.) The only problem is that such a remote version is not available anymore after awhile because everyone (Hello Games + GOG + Steam + another possible re-seller) will reasonably think that the NEWEST version is the best one because of improvements included. I advice you to download every version from your account if you want to collect them, do so before they replace these versions (and better have a lot of hard disk space!).
But OK, if the game would go down, no more DLCs, severs down etc. then, all I can say as a player is : oh, that's too bad, the game is dying. But AFAIK, this is not the case with No Man's Sky ...
