lowyhong: Thanks. It all actually sounds quite interesting, now that you've explained in greater detail. Regarding the 4 skills, can you elaborate more on them? What are they?

Glad to hear that there will definitely be more content as the pledges move up, btw :)
@Siannah: so much time lost playing arcomge, simple yet addicting

As far s your question about skills, Lets take the monk for example specifically the heal. In a traditional game you may have the heal, group heal, buffs, etc.. but for Arakion the monks heal starts out as a base low level single target heal. You'll be able to upgrade it taking it from that single target heal into a more powerful heal, potentially giving it group healing, armor buffs, damage buffs, increasing the healing amount as well as many other options without an increase in ability cost. Each skill for every character will essentially have an upgrade tree where you can view what has gone into the skill.

The benefit of this is it allows skills to be a one stop shop while adding another level of character customization into the game.

Cool! Thanks for clarifying.

About the card game, would it be playable in-game like Arcomage? Might be a nice way of making it feel more directly linked to the KS and game content.

Oh, and you got my pledge. :)

The card game will indeed be integrated into the game in a similar fashion to Arcomage, the game itself will be different but you'll be able to play against NPCS for rewards.

And thank you a ton for the Kickstarter pledge I really appreciate it.

Siannah: If you haven't, get Might & Magic 7 and play the tavern card game Arcomage - I lost more hours to that one then I'd want to admit....
I can relate.. ^^

hedwards: And Enclave Eyewear. Sunglasses at a midranged price. Polarized with T90 memory plastic and only $30 each.

lowyhong: Wow these look pretty sweet for a day at the beach. The "enclave" label is jarring though. Should be slightly smaller and more subtle.
He's reworking the logo now that there's been so much interest. Now he's planning on making them an embedded metal logo. I'm guessing that will result in a smaller logo. All in all they look like a really good deal.

I'm a sunglasses junky, so I just need something to replace the Ray-Bans that are basically no longer being produced. Stupid Luxxotica.

Jetpack 2 is down to one more hour, so anybody that wants in, now is your last chance before it's final release.
Here's a let's play of the first hour of Expeditions: Conquistador (early beta, of course), with Andrew Whipple of Plagued Gamer and creative director of the game Jonas Weaver. http://www.theplaguedgamer.com/2012/09/the-indie-affliction-expeditions.html

EDIT: Btw, for those who don't know, you can still pre-order Legends of Eisenwald from their site via Paypal and get the same bonuses as from the Kickstarter. I don't plan to, as their combat system doesn't seem all that impressive to me (but it's entirely possible I'm missing something), but it's good to know for those who missed the KS.

Relic Knights is about to end. If you don't know what to pledge, pledge 100 USD (plus 25 shipping outside the US). http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/coolminiornot/relic-knights

You have 20 hours.

Anime based minis wargame, with cards and books, and giant robots...

Yeah... sold!

ET3D: Bryan Wiegele, who had no success with his Delaware St. John Kickstarter, has a new project, The Red Queen of Oz - Graphic Novel Project. Looks interesting, although it's been running so far for 20 days with few people apparently hearing about it (I only now found about it), and so far it's trending towards another fail.

excalibunny: Honestly it just seems like these oz and Alice "dark" remakes are getting tiresome for people.
What isn't mentioned at all on the Kickstarter page is that he wants to make this into an adventure game. That's what he says on the Delaware St. John Facebook page. I asked him to provide some more info about this because it might affect how the project is perceived. Certainly I see it as more attractive because of this.
With less than $400 left over 3 days, Expeditions: Conquistador is in the bag. They've also reworked their stretch goals to space them out more but make them smaller, instead of big but unattainable ones:
-$70,000: Successful funding.
-$80,000: Choose passive abilities for your followers every time they level up.
-$90,000: Greater visual variation in character models
-$100,000: Ability trees (6-9 active abilities per class)
Their final stretch goal remains the same:
-$160,000: A new full campaign set in the Inca empire, 50 additional random events, 2 extra character classes, 8 unique items, new Incan character models.

The owners of the source code of the Catacombs series (one of the first ever FPSs) are making a kickstarter to porting the series to Iphone: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1803047198/porting-the-catacomb-series-to-iphone

Not really interested in a Iphone version, but I like to see the series someday in GOG, never had the chance of play one of these (only a demo).

Edit: Expeditions: Conquistador just made his minimum goal, I hope they achieve at least the 80K strecht one in the remaining 3 days.

WHY?! WHY IS IT ALWAYS IPHONE?!

-headdesk-
I asked Bryan Wiegele a few questions about The Red Queen of Oz and the adventure game he's planning. You can read the interview here.

johnki: WHY?! WHY IS IT ALWAYS IPHONE?!
Because it's easier (less variety of devices) and iPhone owners are willing to pay.

On the other hand, I think that Android owners are more active on Kickstarter.

What a terrible Kickstarter project. Two reward levels, no video, few details. According to this guy's bio he has owned some successful businesses, and yet he's conducting himself as a total noob.
