Off the top of my head:
- Sam & Max Season One
- Penumbra Collection
- Knights of the Chalice
- Machinarium
- Samorost 2
- Gemini Rue
- The Shivah
- Puzzle Bots
- To the Moon
- Time Gentlemen, Please
- Puzzle Quest
- Blocks That Matter
- Wizorb
- Home
- Retention
So generally only quite inexpensive indie games, except maybe for Sam & Max, because I was so excited about its release (but I payed part of the price with a gift coupon, not sure if that counts :D ). I didn't really regret any of these purchases, they were very much worth it, except for the last two, which fortunately were also the cheapest of the bunch. And I didn't manage to advance a lot in Penumbra, but maybe one day I'll try again.
Most other games I've bought were from the bargain bin, budget editions, second hand, cheaper re-releases of older games like here on GOG, slightly discounted pre-orders or release promos, on sale or included in a bundle. The most money I ever spent on a individual game purchase was 40-45$ and that was for a bundle of (nearly all) Telltale adventures and for a second hand copy of an imported, original language Icewind Dale Complete (1&2), in the days before GOG was around.
