Leroux: Well, I don't know how old you are and what background you come from, but as for me, in the earlier eras of gaming I was a schoolboy with hardly any money to spend on games and didn't even own a PC, plus my parents frowned upon spending money on videogames; later I was a student with my own PC but still had hardly any money to spend on games. Add to that that my computers were never high end gaming PCs, so I wouldn't have been able to play the freshly released games offered at full price.
I'm 40. I grew up in a poor family. During my school years we'd often have our gas, water, or electricity shut down because of money problems. I've been poor my whole life. I'm a high school dropout who spent most of his time working low paying jobs and who has just started going back to school this past year. Still don't think it was that hard to pay full price for a game at least once or twice a year over the last 25years.

I'm not really trying to guilt-trip people into paying full price, I really don't care. I've bought shitloads of used games or reduced price games too. I just think the lack of full price purchases here is kinda weird, considering that I have never made a lot of money either.
And judging by the threads where people list the games that they've finished, or how people here love the extras at gog, or how people want to keep their games forever and not "rent" them on steam, I don't even consider myself a guy who is super into videogames.

The last time I bought a game at full price was 2002 I think, when Morrowind was released. I also paid full price for both of its expansions.

I am pretty sure I have never paid full price for anything else since with the exception of expansions to EverQuest, EverQuest 2, LoTRO and WoW.

Oops. I lied. I have bought some GOGs at full price but forgot because they are such bargains to begin with.

I cant remember, lol
Recently or in a lifetime? Well within the last year or two to today (as far as I can remember):

-Guild Wars 2
-Skyrim
-Kid Icarus: Uprising
-BlazBlue: Continuum Shift EXTEND
-Lumines: Electronic Symphony
-Resident Evil: Revelations
-Xenoblade Chronicles
-The Last Story
-Pandora's Tower
-Dodonpachi Daifukkatsu
-Akai Katana Shin
-Super Street Fighter 4 3D
-Cathrine
Oh yeah. Guild Wars for me too.

In my opinion, one should pay full price if any of the following are true:

- It's worth the price for a new experience
- You want to support the developers
- You want to engage in the height of the multiplayer experience
- You have friends getting the game and you want to play it with them

That said, most PC games have great sales very quickly. So it's often wise to wait a month or two.
A whole boatload BITD. Company of Heroes was the last one, and that must have been 2003 or so.

For myself I think the last one was Dragon Age 2 pre-order. I won't be doing that again. If you count kickstarters and count higher tier backing levels, as opposed to just minimal to get the game, then Project Eternity. I've bought a buttload of Wii and PC games for the kids at full price in the last year though.
Last full-priced game I bought was Mount and Blade: Warband ($30). It was soooooooooo very worth it.
so mine in some what recant times would be
the witcher 2 ( pre ordered)
dragon age 2 (not pre ordering thing s again sigh )

also arcanum and master of magic
I forgot, I did pay full price for Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Super Smash Bros., and Super Mario RPG.

The last full price title that I bought was the Mists of Pandaria expansion

Before that it was TW2 Pre-order here on GOG and Sonic Generations

All were worth every cent, it's really a shame that so few titles come out that actually warrant a day 1 purchase
