StingingVelvet: 1.2 patch out on PC. It fixes the mouse, which is all I ever wanted... I feel like crying tears of joy!
People on Bethesda forums are saying 1.2 patch made things worse. Did you play after patch yet?
I don't own Skyrim, but I did read THIS....

Hey, dragons flying backwards is a feature not a bug.

I just posted the link I was tweeted by CheapyD from cheapassgamer. If the weaknesses were removed, that seems like a pretty serious bug to me.
The Larceny Target quest is bugged and I will forever be unable to give the bloody model ship to Delvin >:|

The game also appears to be crashing to desktop a lot more often now.

Oh that certainly is, I just always like to pick out something silly from a bug list.
Like "fixed: size of the moon" :P
But the resistances and weaknesses thing is a game breaking bug IMO.

I didn't have any problems before other than the mouse. This update fixed the mouse and did not cause any other issues for me so far.

It does fuck up resistances on the consoles from what I understand, but if that is the case on PC as well I am sure they will hotfix it in short order.

Yeah. Like I put on twitter, that whole Bethesda blog post almost reads like a love letter to the PC. I bet the PC sales are very impressive. The patch also fixed mouse control completely, which they never bothered doing before.

The tools themselves sound like an excellent Steam justification. They should do a Starcraft 2 thing and allow modders to monetize it, then make TES6 a PC exclusive :P

Wonder if/how this will affect the 3rd party mod sites like the Nexus?

It won't really. Bethesda say mods will still be available on sites like the Nexus. This new Steam service is likely to appeal to the more mod-curious people out there rather than experienced modders. There are a large amount of people who play Oblivion and Fallout 3 who never modded their games because they either don't know about mods or they are intimidated by the idea of installing them.

Also Nexus will likely cater for the, shall we call them specialist mods? You know the ones that are very NSFW that are highly unlikely to appear on a Valve site.

I dont think it will, because there will still be the way to install mods as we do today OR to add them to your steam library with help of that new feature. So everybody can be happy :D

I don't have experience with Steam Workshop up to now, so I can't really judge. Though I can't really see anything that other mod-sites (like nexus with their own mod manager) didn't do already.

There's 24k files for Oblivion on TESnexus and their Skyrim site gotten overrun from visitors as well as reaching 1k mods within 2 weeks of release - without a mod kit available..... makes me doubt to see it as "the big thing".
From what I've seen / read, there's around 3,5k files submitted to Steam Workshop for TF2 (the only other game making use of it?) and only 40 being accepted, which doesn't make me any more optimistic.
It did sort of fix the lag issue with the PS3....... and fixed the display of armor level/weap damage...........

/sigh on the ps3 i've yet to go anywhere with the main quest :P (keep restarting and doing side quest stuff till it lags out)

Yeah, you are probably right. I won't be using the Steam client to install mods, I doubt it will have nearly the functionality of third party mod tools [though the Nexus Mod Manager [the only one available for Skyrim right now] is short on features right now]
