Gokyabgu: I'm one of those Kickstarter backers who somewhat pissed off by this DRM-free version delay. Why we have to wait for DRM-free version of Banner Saga? What is the meaning of "under development"? How it is that there isn't any DRM-free version of the game? Did they build their game on Steam's system? This all seems bullshit to me. I'm waiting for DRM-free version while pirates already released one at torrent sites.

By the way I'm agree that gog must announce its' future releases early. In order to support indie RPG companies I buy their games, mostly at day one. For example I bought Aarklash on Steam after waiting 3 weeks, only to find three days later it was on gog.com.
Well, perhaps they're thinking it the same (semi paranoid) way as EA with Simcity, apply (draconian in EA's case) DRM for as long as possible to ensure sales, then when sales start to wane, essentially re-release it DRM-free (or in EA's case, just your average annoying DRM)

Most sales are in the first month of a game's release, then when the developer has squeezed all or most he thinks he can out of the game, then relax the DRM a bit.
They announced yesterday on their forum that the DRM free version will be released with the first patch.

Do we know when the first patch will be out? In time for Lunar New Year? Tomorrow? Next month? =P Game looks fun, I wanna play too!

No idea. It's supposed to take into account the first return they had from the users (adding subtitles to the intro cinematic, balance some fights, this kind of things). They're apparently doing it right now, but it could take some time

Since you've got a "expedition conquistador" avatar, I guess it's your kind of game, yes :)
I hope after this too much waiting , game will be bug-free or it's very big failure .

Yeah, because all games are always bug-free a week after release. And that's ignoring that this will basically be the initial release for the DRM-free version. Any other ridiculous requirements for it to not be a 'very big failure'?

One week ? I think there is no ETA ?

Doh, got me on that one, for some reason took the above news as tomorrow. Either way, this will be the first release of the DRM-free version which will probably come with its own bugs. And even if it's a month or two. There's practically no such thing as a 'bug-free' game. There's plenty of classics on GOG that despite all the years of community fixing and GOG-live, still contain bugs.

Didn't experience any bug on the steam version, at least. There are probably some, but nothing glaring.

None so far for me in the 7 hours I got in either but there's bound to be some bug somewhere no doubt.
I'm hoping the DRM Free version is released before King.com sues them and makes them change the name! ;-)

same!
Its been 3 days. NO sign of the drm free version yet.
I am curious, I rather want to get this game but I am holding off for the GOG release. It looks fantastic but what style of RPG is it? It looks like it's Tactics based or am I mistaken? I rather love the art style and the music seems fantastic. I am saving up some money to get this and Blackguards actually.
