According to the Gamasutra link Mivas posted above it lists gog as a pre order option. I would assume the bonus content would apply here as well.

The $25 pre order edition you see is basically the same priced as the Special Edition on the kickstarter. However. The contents are different. Special Edition included digital art book + soundtrack + wallpaper (imho the better deal).The preorder includes exclusive char, ability item + selection of soundtrack material. The base game by itself was $10 ( so therefore 15-20 buck range on release seems reasonable).

I'm really pumped. Looks like an awesome game.

I will probably buy it . I don't see good RPGs in these days .

That article is quite old, and it is saying:
The Banner Saga is available for pre-order through Steam, GOG.com, GameFly, GameStop and Gamers Gate. It will release on January 14, 2014 for PC and Mac.
Actually, it is available for pre-order everywhere, but not here...
No official announcement, no tweet, no fb post... nothing... (I asked about release several times, no answer)
StoicStudio even removed GOG.com from the description of pre-order trailer on YT...

I think I will pre-order it on Steam after all... I really don't like this "surprise release" behavior of GOG when it is about new games available everywhere, even if it comes here eventually... For what they have that NEW AND COMING tab on the main page?

I don't really think they withhold information or do it on purpose just for the pleasure of doing "surprise release", if it's not announced here it's IMO most probably because either they refused the game or because they haven't yet come to an agreement with the developers.

So I understand it like there is no release on 14th of January here, probably not even this month, and as The Banner Saga is probably my most awaited game of 2014, it looks like GOG will be drm-free back-up for yet another game for me eventually... Sorry GOG, but you are so slow... :(

so do you say that gog do not know what games do release when they do the "surprise release" releases that they do? (which is almost all of them, gog have very few pre-orders.... and all the 'confirmed' releases are usually through other sources, such as the developers or Kickstart pages, not from gog. Like that forum thread. It is strange that the community seems to know better gog's release schedule than gog does)

I only want to know if they release particular game or not... Is it so difficult to announce "Yes we will release it here, but there are some issues we have to resolve first..." which pretty much says "DO NOT BUY IT ELSEWHERE" to me?

IMHO keeping such great NEW INDIE GAME releases in secret and uncertainty helps, but not to GOG as I am going to buy it elsewhere... They could have my money, but it looks like they do not care to much...

Let's look from the other side: I will wait for release, as there are some rumors... Then they will not come into agreement for whatever reason... And how I will know that I should not wait any longer, if I want to play that game?

Of course for old games like Bloodnet today, I have no problem with that "surprise" kind of release...
