I'd just like to point out that Licurg is not acting like dick on this issue.

Also:

I'm guessing he wants us to pretend we are sacrificing animals to him like he is a dark god or demon who will select a few chosen. Those lucky chosen will each receive a dark gift, a copy of Sacrifice...
You read me like a book...
I'm in.

I'm not a vegetarian and I don't even own an animal, but I think asking for photos of dead animals was at least pretty distasteful. What's next? Asking for photos of dead people, bloody wounds or mutilated children?

+1 for Bavarian for this thread and his giveaway.

keeveek: You Fins really are a hunting nation, aren't you? ;P
I guess. At least there are a few hunters in my family, and even I, the black sheep hippie vegetarian of the family, have been with 'em. I only shoot stuff with a camera, though. Now that I think about it, I've seen a few scenes pictures of which I would probably find disturbing. The memory of a rabbit with its eyes hanging out of their sockets haunted me for quite a while.
Btw. we here are talkie-talkie jibber-jabber about dead animal pics, and at this very moment, Isreaeli tanks are approaching Gaza.

I'm sorry for this offtop, but somehow, I thought about all those pictures of dead people on Polish television in next few days.

Entering...I'm looking for Giants.

I saw this thread coming a mile off..

Neither do I want to show off my moral superiority, nor do I want Licurg's thread to get cencored in any way. I was looking out for a suitable occasion to launch a somehow-themed giveway for some time now, and Licurg's thread was perfect to refer to. Maybe the light humorous undertone didn't shine through enough in my first post. My bad.

But I'm also on a serious note here, because as an outspoken animal friend (and vegetarian, by the way), this is a topic I'm concerned with. Making fun of dead animals doesn't exactly certify an adequate understanding for, and mature approach to the significance of life and death, especially when it's about innocent and defenceless creatures like animals are. Requesting pictures of real dead animals is not black humor, it's apathetic.

I just wanted to make that statement, and if it brings only one single person to think twice, it was worth my while and my money. Call it showing off moral superiority if you wish. I call it showing some common sense.

And thanks a lot to the other contributors!

I would just like to point out that shark, bear, tiger, or any other wild animal is far from being defenseless.

Compared to fluffy bunny rabbits, they aren't. Compared to mankind, they are.
Entering for Giants. Thanks for your giveaway and thanks to those who donated games!!!
I see pictures of dead animals a lot more often than I realized. People on facebook will post pictures of their latest hunt. I'm sure there are plenty of these kinds of pictures in the public newspapers lately with rifle season for deer hunting in full swing right now in the U.S.

As for the whole meat and dead animal argument, I have to say that anyone who eats meat is no better than the butcher that kills the animal. Anyone who uses wood products is no better than the lumberjack.

Anyway, I'm not entering. I don't care if people don't want to see pictures of dead animals or not. The moral high horse attitude of this thread just irks me though.

edit: Ah, I didn't see the latest posts before I posted. I see the OP doesn't want to show off moral superiority or for Licurg's thread to get censored. I'm too slow.

Ooops, sorry for that! :(

Fixed now.
I'm entering for Giants: Citizen Kabuto.
If you like seeing dead animals, you should be having some psychological problem and you should question yourself about that.
Once I saw (on Facebook), a lady crushing a cat using her feet. Inmediately, I closed the window and I thought how anybody could do that and it was really obvious that she did it for fun. And that's sickening.
+1 for you and for the iniciative.
Also thanks to SimonG, amok, Aningan and wpegg!
Licurg is awesome, but I didn't like his giveaway.

I am not entering this giveaway, but +1 for it.

I am one of those people given a copy of Sacrifice by wpegg. I redeemed the code back then because I was curious what the fuss is all about with the game. I ran the game a couple of times, it just did not click with me.

Oh I am sure Sacrifice is a great game and all that, but it may just not be for everyone. What was it they say again... there is no accounting for taste, and there is no taste for accounting, or something? :-)

Anyway, thanks to wpegg for the game, but really I am sorry I did not seem to enjoy it, and do not think I will play it in the future when there are so many other games that click more with me.

I hate PETA using pictures of dead animals to compare KFC to Nazi concentration camps. Does that count?
