I can understand this being a news story in the UK. But why do I constantly have to hear about the royal family when I live in the US?? Wasn't there a war some time ago to get away from this family? Why don't I ever hear about any other royal family? If the Queen of Denmark walked past me on the street, I wouldn't have a clue. But I certainly would recognize the Queen of England since I've seen her on TV so many damn times.

I don't know why I get so annoyed about this. Probably because there is way more important things going on that should be reported.

Couldn't agree more. I've never seen a cute newborn. Humans aren't cute until they are 1-2 years old. And I'll throw this out there: women who are pregnant are NOT beautiful. There, I said it.

I've always wondered the same thing about the US media's infatuation with the UK Royals. I stopped paying attention a long time ago, and switch the channel when they want to dote on them. In fact the only Royals I would be able to pick out in a crowd is the Queen and her son Prince whatever his name is (Harry, George, Ringo).
Kennedy's who cares about them...

The only one of those Kennedy I ever liked was old Teddy...A big drunk, womanizer, that kept getting reelected somehow. Although, some respect to JFK with the whole Marilyn Monroe thing.

That's actually more risky. The crime is possession when it comes to things north of the law. So having it on a hard drive makes you permenantly "catchable"/"usable", whereas a brief visit to a site is a risk that might drop.

One of the nasty things our government is doing is to keep redrawing that line. Our (very) christian Prime Minister is enforcing his moral code, but the difficulty is that you can never draw the line back. When can a PM say "Actually simulated rape is not actually hurting anyone, so go for it". Never. At this point you may say - "Great, that's freaky shit, ban it", but at the point when they ban the plain porn, it will be the same, no PM can go and say "Actually it's okay". The dirty secret of sex is too much for politicians to fight.

I don't mind drinking and philandering and scandals ete etc. I'm TOTALLY fine with that be it from royals or politicians or any celebs. What irks me about the Royals is that none of them have done anything to achieve their status. If you want to make fun of a PM or a Senator fine but know they actually had to go out and get the job. I was never of a fan of Maggie over there and I've always despised Ronnie over here but at least they WORKED. Oh it might have been counterproductive and cruel but it was still work, it required actual effort. Ronnie wasn't made President just by being born and Maggie didn't get the PM gig because of her last name. Taking it one step further, what is this curtsey/greeting the queen crap!? I will bow before someone who cured a disease or invented a longer lasting light bulb or wrote Stairway to Heaven, but if you think I'm going down on one knee just because you are good at looking frumpy, FUCK YOU!
