It is strangely Slavic for a German game! There is even a stat for alcoholic endurance. And every freaking NPC wants to drink with me. 'Let's not stand outside! Come in for a beer / some brandy / a bottle of wine.'

I don't think you should worry about your party. Level 1 and 2 of that first dungeon are the only moments I had serious trouble. There is a fight with 6 brigands and then with 8 that are rather rough and left my party in a dreadful state, with some dead and most unconscious. I think, later, it gets easier, if you stay out of swamps and don't go on too long mountain treks.

There is actually a slavic-influenced country in the northeast of Avenuria/Arkania. There really should be a video game set in it, I also found it interesting. The ROA games come close, since they are set in the north, but never actually go that far.

So far nobody has fully completed the assignment. As I don't know how many are actually in this little contest, I would like to propose the following.

The other two winners will be determined by "first come, first served".

I don't want to cheat out any "silent minority" that has played the game. So if there are some proper entries (with picture) there still will be a proper drawing in twelve ours.

I fully agree that cich should get it.

I think the shot from the first game should be enough. It takes enough effort to get there to know that those who do know if they want game.

Well, it's nice of you that although nobody achieved your goal, you awarded someone that worked hard for the award. But then you said he's disqualified! First you said you'll give away 3 copies, then you said you'll give 2 copies! ??? I don't understand!I !

I can confirm that I've been disqualified. Many mantears have been shed in the process and many more taverns of Arkania will have their beer reserves invaded by my mighty party.
And SimonG is to blame!

cich is no longer eligible to win a copy of Realms of Arkania 3, because SimonG has already sent him a copy. It is a different way of saying "Congratulations cich, you got Realms of Arkania 3". I blame SimonG's profession for the weird way of speaking...

It is just proper. As cich hadn't completed the official rules, I couldn't reward him. But he was awarded an out of context copy for his work so far. That however disqualified him for the contest. He can no longer win the game, as he already has it. And as my giveaway budget is limited, I had to make adjustments.

That was the only viable way ;-)

Out of spite and because I am a miserable and evil person, I just disqualified Tallima and reduced the remaining codes to one.

On a more serious note, while I'm somewhat disappointed that so few tried this contest, I'm glad I did it this way and not just threw the codes out there. I have the feeling that cich, Tallima and ashwald will enjoy RoA III a lot more than the people who would have simply snatched them of the forum.

Afraid RoA isn't on my immediate playlist. To much other stuff.

Will have to get to them soon though, as I never actually finished either of the first two despite having original discs from way back. Great giveaway though! :)

What I loved about your giveaway is that it got some of us to really try the game. I would have never given it a fair chance otherwise b/c I didn't understand the game enough.

It was forever before I had my first combat. I couldn't find my way around town. The interface was, at first, clunky.

Now that I'm knee-deep into the game, it's the best character-simulation RPG I've ever played. You have to take care of your people almost like they're real -- clothe, feed and intoxicate like they're real. And the interface is super-simple. Just right-click, left click. It's just not an interfance I'd ever used before.

It's been a pleasure to play the 1st one and although I'm tempted to just jump to #3, I'm going to finish 1 and 2 out first.
