I made party yesterday, it was a hard job.

Dwarf, Fighter, Ice Elf, Green Elf, Druid and Mage.

And then electricity have stoped :/

Get some solar panels, that way you have some backup power.

How are folks doing on this one? I'm restarting myself. The game is quite hard and takes some getting used to.

I tried Part 2 for a second and enjoyed the enhancements.

You have toe earn those !!!! Get back to RoA 1!

I've given up. As I said in another thread:

But I must say I enjoyed the intros and soundtrack of both games and the humor of the RoA manual, so I do not regret trying. :)

My 3-year-old son is in love with the intro town's song. And the soundtrack offered by GOG is even better. He dances to it all day long.

This is a bump. I haven't finished SimonG's Brothel Quest (r), but I feel like sharing.

I have tried the Realms of Arkania games many many times over the years. And I never got far. My default party usually ended up dead in some wilderness. The diseases got us first, then the robbers finished the job. I barely knew what I was supposed to do, too.

But this time was different. I started from the Blade of Destiny, and created my own party. That's rather important, because it helps learning the game, and the crazy spell system.
Anyway, SimonG's Quest made me realize what this game is about. And it's about partying. Partying hard.

I've been playing for three months game time and most of that my party spend in taverns drinking themselves silly. Because that's how you find information - by getting drunk with the locals. Then we slept in rented suits! Yes, after finishing the first dungeon, we had so much money that we could live like kings and drink like drunkards. That's the highest level of role playing accomplishable.

In this situation, the brothel was just a post scriptum. But, of course, all types of sex and all positions were tested. When SimonG did that trick with cheese toast everyone was shocked. Some were in awe of his skills, some were throwing up, not believing such things possible. It was a sight to behold. By the morning, half of Phexcaen couldn't find their pants, and the other half was still damn drunk.

That's Realms of Arkania for you.

Awesome. You made it to the first brothel!

I'm still in the first dungeon (just about done with level 2). My first party (default party) was completely and utterly destroyed. I wasted all of my money on things that ended up being useless.

Now, again with the default party but with the a fresh start, I'm winning some battles. I fear I may be in trouble later, but I'll deal with it as it comes. I think I might make a custom party for Arkania 2 b/c I've gotten a better grip on the stats and the negatives better.

I think the best part of this competition is that it got some folks trying out the free game. I got it in case I might want to play something old some day. Now I fully intend to get Arkania 3 when I get to it b/c it's really a fun game.

Especially seeing SimonG doing who knows what sort of horrific and immoral things. :D

One last thing: with all of the drinking, this game is only reinforcing the stereotype that Germans like to drink several well-made beers for every meal. I like it!
