GameRager: You're fooling yourself if you think gog would ever sell it for less than 9.99, and most likely as it's their game it wouldn't be in many promos and hardly ever discounted.

The game I got is drm-free, I have a copy of the install files on disk and can get another copy at any time from amazon.....so kudos to me.
Don't you have a sense of humor?

I said "Not his lucky day, then" just kidding, in case the game comes to GOG in the coming weeks and if the game goes on sale on Steam and/or GOG, you already got if from somewhere else.

I'm not fooling myself by anything. Of course GOG needs to make money out of it, so if they are not adopting new price tiers, it's probable they'll use $9.99 for it (this way you can have a sale, let's say 30% off and have it for $6.99; Steam sold it for $6-$7 some time ago, and now Amazon sold it for $6 as you said).

Kudos to you indeed, you chose a great game for just more than five bucks. I just don't know Amazon's policy, so personally I wouldn't buy from their digital store.

I do have a sense of humor friend...I just forgot to put the little guy :) on the end of thagt post, is all. And btw so far amazon seems good....no drm except cd key(once entered it doesn't ask any more.) and that's it. A nice service for something I tried on a whim, really.

Kalas: I think that was just Impulse that made you use it, because I know I got the retail patches from elsewhere.
avatar
Coelocanth: Yeah, you only had to get the patches from Impulse if you bought the game through them. Otherwise, you could just register your game on CDProjekt's The Witcher website and grab the patches from there (likely there were other places that hosted the patches as well, although not officially sanctioned).
Thanks for clearing that up. But what is involved in registering the game? That's something that I have been unable to find out. Do you need to connect to CDProjekt's servers from the same computer that want to install the game each time you want to install? Or will I be able to take the installer and patches that I stored on my portable hard drive, along with whatever extra information I need, install the game onto a computer with no Internet access, and patch it to the latest version?

I haven't personally tried it, but I'm 99.999% sure you can back the patch(es) up and install on any machine you want. No need to be connected to the internet. The registration was only on their web site so you could access the patches, and there was no need to be connected to the internet to 'activate' them.

Skystrider: (...)
Please, check your gog pm. :)
I was thinking that if polish CDP GOG will be selling their own polish game that it would be with polish dabing and I didn't even bother thinking it could be otherwise. As I am now looking to localization on preorder page, I am seeing no polish...
Tell me... was I wrong? I'd like to play Witcher in some of the langauges I am being able to read and with POLISH voiceover as it is vital for witcher by me. I do not want to beg for inclusion of polish at preorder pack but ... do something like wiedzmin 1 had - very flexible voicover and text setting. Please.
God Lord !
Checked the local retail price of the CE . It's $100 . ( 10% discount included )

You don't have to. You will just get a reminder that you can pay for your preorder on release day. Nothing bad will happen if you don't pay. There is some info in FAQ on TW2 preorder page, you should check it.
So, Out of the five games to choose from for free what's the best? I'm assuming Gothic 2?
