I didn't like Witcher 1 (boring female characters, sloppy dubbing, so-so storylines) despite of liking the pentalogy but I'll support this just for sake of distribution concept.

How come that it is not possible to offer a new game for $ instead of €? I mean in the end Europeans can still purchase a game from US shop for cheap $ (like I was used to), so what is the problem?
Frictional Games are available online for $ even if the company is Sweden.
Plus, GOG already offers its games for $.
I'm just asking because I seriously don't understand the reasoning.

Curunauth: thanks!

(although I really want it via GOG because that would be cool, I could give them cash, AND I could avoid having the DRM ever installed, even briefly. *shudder*)
I hear that, the enhanced version does install TAGES but the 1.5 patch removes it. I have not found any trace of it on my system. I won't install ANYTHING with SecuROM in it though.

This link may be helpful to you as well.

Edit: Get the director's cut patch too.

otaviolucas: Yeah, gamers in Brazil suffer, most because of ours taxes. Videogames are even worse. I don't buy from local stores, but some people do, and they pay for a new release videogame something around 170 Reais (99 USD).
I, on the other hand, import my games from UK and Hong Kong, so i don´t buy them overpriced, the only con it's because sometimes it takes almost 30 days to receive the game. At least I pay the just price.

I forgot to tell: when I import my games I usually don't pay the import taxes because of the small value, so the customs just let it through, our IRS don't tax all the packages (don't really know why)
Though you're right, I remember the original Witcher coming out in Brasil for R$60,00 at the time, a fairly low and good price.

Though I had the intention of an eventual preorder, I ended up preordering by accident. I didn't expect it to be done in just a click of a button. I thought there were more screens to check before formalizing it.

Read the F.A.Q. Seriously.
Well GOG, congratulations. I've just not only decided on buying a new computer game, something I haven't done for about 10 years, but I decided to preorder it sight and review unseen, which I've refused to do because of draconian no refund policies that every damn retailer has.

I'm really looking forward to being able to see the maps and artwork. I loves me some maps and artwork. =)

Already pages upon pages of "hey gais I totally pre-ordered this!" They've already just made like a million dollars from us. :D
My laptop isn't up to spec and I can't afford this but I really hope this does well. It could pave the way for CD Projekt to open a modern game sister shop to GOG, one that could even compete with Steam.

"Due to licensing and legal reasons the price of The Witcher 2 Digital Premium Edition in the European Union was set at 49.99 euros."
It doesn't answer my question. As far as I know an owner of the rights - CD Project - is the one who can dictate the price. Which legal reasons? How is it possible that another European owner can sell it for $ and this one doesn't? GOG is their and they don't have problems to sell GOG's games for $ to Europeans. Which is great, by the way.

So anywhere I can find out about the system requirments? Don't really feel like pre ordering a game I won't be able to play.

And also a short question, has it been confirmed if the combat system will be different than TW1? I couldn't stand the combat in that game sadly :/
I was already preording this title before I even knew what my fingers were doing.

Awesome!

Great move CDP!!
So when are we going to see the first Witcher on here? I'd rather pay to play it on here than borrow the physical version from my brother.

OMG I HATE GOG FOR NOT ABIDING BY THEIR NAME!!!!!!!!!!
Really liked this offer, the Fair Price Package is not the ideal solution for the regional pricing but it's better than the usual.

But I've got to wonder: why would I want an extra free game AFTER Witcher 2 is released?
Gothic 2 would be a great game to play before the second Witcher, not after.
