michaelleung: TBH I'm not sure. GOG has the DRM-free and the goodies but Steam has Steam Cloud (when it works it's brilliant) and achievements. I live in Canada so the prices don't affect me.
If you are referring to this game only, it has no cheevos or steam cloud ability at all, and lists as much on the steam page.

If you buy from GOG.com, you get the better deal by miles.

I would just like to leave this message for the GOG guys:

Oh. My. God.

You guys are f#$%ing crazy!

And I like it.

Pre-ordered. Keep up the good work.

SirCabbage: This is a damn good deal.

Its much cheaper here then it would be in real life for me (australian), and even has an oppertunity to expand my GOG profile while im at it.

I will definatly consider preordering here! to all those of you who are saying that this is a game to get a physical copy of... stop and think what you are saying. You'd rather give money to EB or GAME... who will give a small percentage to our friends CD Project. Or, buy it here and give the entire figure to them! Personally removing the middleman is worth it if it means CD Project gets more cash
I want the physical swag too though, and as gog can't provide it........

Of course, I can buy it elsewhere not just moneygrubbing gamestop/eb too ya know. :)

Witcher 2 does not have Steam Cloud support and achievements.
This deal is so good on so many levels I'd take it without thinking even if I knew for a fact that TW2 would turn out to be the game I hate the most in the entire history of computer gaming on this planet, past and future.

The simple fact it's DRM-free, alone, is enough: finally, some sanity in the world! Do I want to encourage more sanity in the world...? Yes I do! Of course I do! You bet your ass I do!

Coupled with the fact that I will almost certainly enjoy TW2 and would have "acquired" it anyway and, well, what's a stronger term than "no-brainer", anyway? I feel like Xander needing the plural of apocalypse, here!

So, anyway, the age of GNG.com...? ;-)

Edit: "7. Are you guys crazy?"
We get asked that a lot".

I notice that you didn't actually *answer* the question! :-D

I'm going to pre-order just to support GoG. Anyway it's cheaper for me than buying a disc copy, since in Brazil a new release pc game it's 99 Reais (that would be around 57 US Dollars).
low rated
Pathetic.
Insta-Preordered. I would've gladly shelled out the 45 bucks today as a show of support for this gesture. This is probably the most monumental game release announcement in recent gaming history. Hopefully this is the event that can change the industry's current paradigm in relation to new releases in digital format as well as physical media. The past has demonstrated consistently that the worst forms of DRM are circumvented quickly while leaving only the paying customer with the inconvenience and hardships associated with it. Finally, this time the consumer isn't "penalized for paying."

I own over 500 titles in digital format between all the online vendors but I only feel I have true ownership over my GOG purchases. Although some vendor's DRM schemes may be less intrusive than others, in the end digital purchases with DRM (or physical media w/ activations and seat limits) feel like subscriptions dependent on a third party with no true sense of ownership. This will mark the first time that I've purchased a digital version of a new highly anticipated title and felt true ownership since predominately making the switch to digital purchases for new games.
Woahwoahwoah, woah.

Dude.

Like, preordered.

Pay later? Yessiree, I'll manage to get some cash by then.
I despise alot of new game releases, aside Bioware,Valve and CD-Project.

Thus with all this goodies I'll pre-order this.

Also, hope Witcher comes here soon.
well this is a really good idea as well you get to keep all the money and not have to share it with steam and impuse

I want that artbook so bad...but I probably won't have the money in time. D:
I'm crying inside right now.

Yeah, I think I'll get the game when it comes out here, too.

According to devs it does. That's what they said during the conference.
