UPDATE 22.04.2011:
We have uploaded a new version of the Downloader (0.9.0.1218). Please download it at your convenience and let us know if any of the problems you experienced earlier still persist.
Major changes include:
fixed problems with logging on,
the Downloader no longer attempts to move files after changing the destination folder,
you can now change the number of concurrent downloads (1 to 10) in the Downloader's options, in case you think the Downloader is overusing your connection.


UPDATE #2 (22.04.2011):
Version 0.9.0.1224 is out, introducing some backend fixes.

suggestion: place an "go to the download directory" feature under right mouse button menu under every game that is downloading.

And please an auto updater for the downloader :)

Btw.: Is there already a way to download the extras using this downloader?
I like the feature of the jgogdownloader, that it downloads everything in one go :)

I downloaded the updated executable and replaced the old one with it, but it won't acknowledge games I set in the queue.

i think your heuristics settings are set too high.

The newest downloader as of today (April 29th 2011) has so far failed to create a download that wasn't corrupted on 3 separate games. Downloading said games via HTTP works just fine.

Relevant system details (i hope)
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_rtm.101119-1850)
System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
System Model: P35-DS3L

The downloader ignores the Pause command, and will continue to download as long as the program as active. I can even click "Logout", and it will keep downloading.

HI ,

I am very satisfied with GOG.com in general (no hassle , no DRM , often nice/low prices, and so on) so I can only hope that GOG.com gets/grows bigger and will stay in business.

I have had a minor inconvenience with the old GOG.com downloader now and then but, up til now, nothing major that a redownload, "resume click" or reboot would not fix.
I have however just tried the new GOG.com downloader (0.9.0.1224 ) and it simply does not work because games added to the download queue simply does not show up in the new downloader - so I am back to the old downloader again.

My O.S: is WIN XP Pro SP3+patched, Oracle/Sun Java and the Adobe Air updated.

Edit :

Since recently even the old downloader has started to make problems (like hard to add to queue and strange errors like error writing to directory messages, wirh crashes following, - that's a first for me), and also newly added games in my games doesn't continue to be marked as new.

FiatLux: it simply does not work because games added to the download queue simply does not show up in the new downloader - so I am back to the old downloader again.
How are you attempting to add the games to the downloader? You can't use the "add to downloader" button with this beta release.

You are ofcourse right , I just downloaded the new GOG.com downloader from then page that my first feedback post were on so I were not aware of any alterations in the pricpals of the functionality or use of the new version beta downloader (the old one is BETA also).
So I just used the add to downloader button - which ofcourse didn't work as you are aware of...
Thanks for the tip

Perhaps it would be smart of the GOG.com team to place a link to explanations about download program use and limitations the same place they place link to the downloader. (I am usually not going to read a 6 page thread if I find a download link)

Works fine for me, but it would be nice if I were able to resize the window. Also in the old downloader when you hovered over the tray icon it showed the current download percentage. Other than that good job.

GOG Downloader doesn't work for me

I installed the Most recent version: 0.9.0.1224 . but no games are being added to the downloader
