fix-cz: Also achievements will get you bluecoins.
Don't they give you experience?

Nope, they don't.

Anyway, they improved the site, but not by much. :( Very similar to the last look.
I ask myself how and when the minion will help you. I did a test and added a game from my minions-genre into the basket. Except the normal price drop nothing changed, so I guess it's all about special deals, which maybe will affect me only in rare cases.

In my first attempt I also choosed the strategy-minion, but looking on my wishlist (many adventures) the elf was maybe the better option. I'm thinking about to ask if they can change it, but then strategy is normally my preferred genre. Maybe I will decide tomorrow.
I'm really not sure if I'll go for Action-adventure, Adventure-RPG, or Action-strategy.

Maybe I should wait and see how they will be used?

I don't think I've bought anything on GamersGate since christmas, because it has way too much Securom in it's games.

I went with the Elf. Most of my games are RPGs so it made the most sense.
I went with the pirate minion since most of my games there are strategy, and I buy more casual (since they put many indie games there) and action games than simulation, and I never buy guides.

The minion doesn't seem to do anything yet, though. As a test I bought Shining Force 2 (for some reason it's classified as casual), didn't get either a reduced price or more blue coins.

The achievements are mostly cosmetic and boring, but they seem to give experience, which is nice considering I still need 46,000 experience to get to black status.

One bad thing, however, if you have lots of games on GG (I have 86), when you want to check or review one, you have to select it then scroll to the bottom of the list, which is way too long imo.
I wish they could put that to the side.
I went with Elf as it was my recommended and I do buy lot of RPG's. I would appreciate RPG-Strategy much more, though, instead of RPG-Adventure.

Agree, there is lot to improve. Shelf is pretty bugged and a lot of things is user-unfriendly.

Agree with both parts.
My biggest complaint with GamersGate has always been the site. So I'm digging this change. At the very least it loads quicker.

Can't get achievements to work though.
Yeah it does seem to be having some teething troubles.

Looking forward to it all working though.

Some of the games hosted also come in a terrible package, TW is a big example of this.
It definitely needs some work, but I love having a shelf now, and the new features seem like a lot of fun. As you can probably tell, Pirate was the perfect for me. :P

KneeTheCap: So, what's the point of those minions? Mine doesn't seem to do anything :D

(Where's Uruk when you need him....)
Was just thinking that. :)
