CowboyBebop: Well I ended up not pledging anything for this game. I contacted them twice and they only answered the first after a while. The second question I asked was to elaborate on a FAQ and I never heard back from them.

inXile responded to any inquiry I had very quickly and I could tell they were dedicated to making the prospective backer happy so I gladly backed them. Harebrained Schemes did not seem as friendly or helpful and I figured if they couldn't even be bothered to answer my question they probably didn't deserve my money to fund their game. The game might end up being great and I might get it after it's released but their customer service was lacking.
That's your choice, but don't you think it's a tad unrealistic given how much was going on during the KS campaign? I mean, I'm not really sure how many people they have doing things, but I'd personally be happy that they answered any of my questions.

You inferred that inXile was more interested in making their backers happy, it might just have been that when you emailed they had already dealt with whatever other business they had to take care of. Plus, given the platforms and the dates of the games, I have a feeling that HBS may have had more messages coming in.

But, it's just speculation on my part, I don't personally think it's fair to compare studios like that. If anything, I'd be more comfortable with HBS if it means that they aren't blowing money on excessive staff before they've even got their money.

It's unknown what inXile or HBS did/will do with the money or if either were blowing money on excessive staff. I don't know how the new Shadowrun or Wasteland games will turn out and I don't preorder games. You're right that it's probably not fair to compare studios like that I just prefer backing companies that answer my questions in a timely manner. To each his own I guess.
