I am really hoping this console succeeds. It's a very interesting idea, to take the mobile market and move it onto the big screen. There are numerous good games already for the Android platform, and with ports of classic games like Baldur's Gate, it definitely hits my curiousity buttons. I was reading on GameBanshee earlier today about Richard Garriott making a new RPG for mobile platforms that he is calling his "Ultimate RPG". The idea of playing that through the Ouya is far more enticing than on my wife's tablet. Also, we love playing through levels of Angry Birds and other puzzle games together (it's the only kind of game she likes, besides Adventure Horror, she's a strange bird), and playing those games on the TV would be more pleasant than on an 8 inch hand held.

Maybe this console won't be for everybody, but I see people like my wife, and my 3 year old daughter, having a great time with it.
So, is Ouya a scam or not?
^did you watch the kickstarter video? its obviously not a scam with that much industry support. (including brian fargo)

Definitely doesn't look like the scam. The people behind it are well known in the tech industry, and articles I've seen on gaming websites have been taking it seriously. I could be horribly wrong, but it looks legitimate.

No, did not watch it.
Hm. You know, I might actually be interested in one of those. I don't necessarily expect it to be a world-altering game changer, but my curiosity is getting the better of me here.
What the... they've raised over $3 million on Kickstarter in less than two days. Kicktraq projects a final amount of $46 million, LOL

How accurate is Kicktraq? It seems to me they would need much more than 24 hours of data to make an accurate prediction.

I doubt they can actually sustain that, unless they raise their limit of available unit. At this rate they'll be "sold out" long before they reach the end of their kickstarter.
I hope you can use a external HDD to store your games :)

It's a known phenomenon that Kickstarters start high and end with a good bump, with a lull in between, but I don't know if Kicktraq accounts for that or not. I probably wouldn't put too much value on it for at least a couple more days.

Kicktraq is very unreliable. It simply takes a linear extrapolation of the daily average to project the final amount. It's kind of funny to see such an enormous number though.
Man I'm out of it, what the heck is "a game for television". And the first update has "You proved consoles aren't dead", when did that happen? I better get back to playing Dark Fall.
Good for them though, looks like another Kickstarter milestone or something. Kicktraq indeed looks like it's going to explode.
Im really curious about this one. I just cant think of it as a competitor to the 3 big ones, but still it might shake up things a bit. If i had 100 dollars i would pledge on it to get the console. Maybe it will not be another Phantom after all.

That does seem likely, the device will have a USB port and they are leaving the hardware access open for nearly anything.
