Johny.: If any of you have any valuable suggestions that could benefit you - users, please write about them.
Something that springs to mind:

In the later stages of a sale (which I guess started today), replace the "Highlights" section with a "Last Chance" section. This makes the last chance games much more visible and provides an opportunity to explain (via mouseover, click to expand or link) what "Last Chance" means.

For future sales of similar nature: I never looked at the Highlights section after the first day. Whatever the criterion was to put games there didn't match up with what I was looking for personally so I just ended up scrolling right down to the meat of the page. That space could be better used for something more useful, whatever that might be.
Lords of Xulima looks cool and it attracted me. But I'm not sure about it. Plus I don't know if its deluxe edition really worth or not.

It has a very nice soundtrack, take a listen here.

I really enjoyed the game, but it's definitely challenging for the first few levels.

Rivdoric: -80% not good enough :) ?
Being the guy who wrote the ass-kissing top rated review, I feel obliged to tell you the following:

- This game got one major patch (and none after that, as far as I'm aware) which broke more things than it fixed
- Al Lowe, the original creator of the series, will not see a penny from this purchase
- Neither will the guy who did the bulk of the creative work for this game (Lowe's involvement was peripheral at best)
- The guy who will profit from your purchase is a collossal douchebag (and a convicted sex felon)

Quote:
You don't have to talk about this if you don't want to, but you mentioned you actually don't get royalties from the re-release?
Al Lowe: Oh, I did. I got a little pittance. But the CEO of the company and I had a falling out, and I'll let people Google that and find out. I'm not going to get into that here. Paul and I just had a falling out and he's refusing me to pay anything, and it's not worth suing him for it. So he can just have it, I guess. [Laughs.] That's the way it worked.

I hope this will help you make The Informed Choice™.

mrkgnao: It depends on whether you like turn-based tactical battles. If you do, this series is one of the absolute best (especially the first one).

The King's Bounty games are great. But I'm not sure if it would be clever to buy the whole bundle if you haven't played one before. These games are huge (the whole bundle will give you 200-300 hours of KB), but they are all very similar and if you don't like the gameplay it would be a waste of money.

Maybe you should pick up the first game for 60% discount and buy the rest of the games when you played it and decided if you like it.
I'm neither a fan of turn based combats nor annoyed by it, but i love enchanted and epic world full of quests and stories. I'm gonna try it, thanks.

Fixed ;)
I didn't know that. It seems we are now supposed to look for developers's life to know if we should buy a game or not huhuh.

Do you guys genuinely have the time to read suggestions? Would it be better to send them via Support?

I'm not expecting much since GOG didn't really listen to users about the website and shelf re-designs, but couldn't hurt to try to make our voices heard again.

EDIT: Don't have time to answer me? ;-)

Is Technobabylon worth buying? I'm not a big fan of pixel games, but this one looks quite cool...

Haven´t played that one, but I wouldn´t hesitate - it´s from the same author as Gemini Rue.

Haven't played a bad Wadjet Eye game yet. So if you like point and click adventures you should be save.

Yep. I am still waiting for the old classic design to come back optional or not. But no answers so far. Kinda disappointing.

I'm trying to be understanding as GOG seems strained by a lack of staff, but it doesn't seem to help that they won't hire outside of Warsaw.

I'm thinking about making a thread (mainly for fun but perhaps something GOG could use in the future) about how GOG should redesign their site in the near future (assuming we'll get another re-design in a few years).

tronsuser: Are Ubisoft leaving GOG?
avatar
Johny.: Nope. "Last chance" means it's last chance for a discount on this sale. :)
Thanks for clearing that up! I like having the last chance warning.
avatar
Johny.: Still - I'm happy that "last chance" info was introduced in the big fall sale.
So am I, thanks a lot for implementing it. :)

It's quite sad really. They're even looking for a recruitment specialist and expect candidates for a temporary position as QA tester to work at their office in Warsaw.

Although I do recognize the many benefits of working in-house in this day and age it shouldn't be a strict requirement for certain jobs.
