Two strategy/RPG powerhouses in one mega-promo: up to 80% off almost every Stardock and Paradox game!

Usually, when you're told that you're going to be sharing some space with a person you've never met, the first things you wonder are whether you two will be compatible and if they own a handheld console. But every once in awhile, the match ends up being so perfect that you feel like it should had happened long ago. When <span class="bold">Stardock meets Paradox</span>, this is exactly the vibe you'll get as you're browsing through their combined list of games and look at the sweet discounts we put on them.

Coming hot from the Kickstarter oven, Pillars of Eternity delivered this "modern classic" vibe that fans of the isometric RPGs of yore were craving. And it did it with the gusto and confidence we have come to expect from Obsidian.

The enormous scale and sandbox qualities of the <Galactic Civilizations games are what set them apart, but it's Stardock's commitment to constantly improving and expanding their potential that has grabbed the attention of all known species in the galaxy.

When <span class="bold">Stardock meets Paradox</span> you know you're in for a real treat. It's a great list of quality strategy/RPGs that should be on everyone's collection, like Sins of a Solar Empire, Hearts of Iron II, Majesty Gold, Sorcerer King, and many more, going for up to 80% off. The promo will last until April 19, 3:59 AM UTC.

eiii: Is there any of the grand strategy games from Paradox which has a tutorial? I've tried Victoria and Crusader Kings, but both games completely let you alone and seem to require you to read the manual before you can do anything useful.
Europa Universalis II, Hearts of Iron II, Darkest Hour.
Are Gal Civ 1 or Gal Civ 2 worth?
Which one is the best?

GalCiv 2 is quite good and I would go for GalCiv2 - compared to GalCiv1 there is a lot of improvement and GalCiv3 is a money grave with all the DLC.

PS

Drop me a PM Phaolo.

There seems to be an overlap in player preferences between Civ5/BE and GalCiv2 :
If you liked one of them, you'll probably like the others, if you found one of them boring, you'll probably find the other boring too.
I don't really care for Paradox's sales on any platform. They are rarely deep enough for me to drop what I am doing and buy something.

GalCiv 2 really improved everything over GalCiv 1. I definitely recommend it! But I've never played GalCiv 3 since it's had mixed reviews. Did any of the bugs get fixed?

Projectsonic: For The Glory at least has one.

Splatsch: Europa Universalis II, Hearts of Iron II, Darkest Hour.
That fits almost perfectly. For The Glory and Darkest Hour are so far my favorites from the current promo. :)

Thanks!

immi101: the website is fine. It's one the biggest CiM1 communities ever since the game was released :)
....
the other important source for mods is this german site:
http://www.citiesskylines.de/filebase/index.php/Filebase/26-Cities-in-Motion-1/ ...

Splatsch: Nice ! Good thing that there are still websites with mods. Thank you very much :D
Do you know if the things on this page are safe ?
don't know the site, but it seems fine, from a cursory glance.
in general the mods are either data (3d models) or in-game scripts - none of which can really impact the security of your pc.
So I would feel quite safe to download the rar/zip files and check them out.
And if there is any executable inside that they want you to run, then it is time to get suspicious ;)

Okay :)
Thanks ! And in addition, one goglodyte uploaded an archive with a huge number of mods and maps ! It's here for people interested ! (Kudos to him ! :D)

Purchased Darkest Hour and Gal Civ 1...

They are not definitive yet, but seem to be the most useful ones. Still 32 hours to decide. :)

Two problems I have with this
Galactic Civilization 3 is separated into single Items, without any complete edition, so way overpriced even in the sale.
Pillars of Eternity, doesn't even include the 1st part of DLC, not even a small discount, and I haven't played the base game yet (buying a lot of games here, more than this unplayed yet).

So not getting either until there's a real sale GC3 complete and POE DLC is complete

It's like the new game trend for "Deluxe Editions", that are just soundtracks and pics and docs.
Those are cool as added extra, but not worth buying, more a publisher trend, but I'd expect GOG to refuse to sell such "extras", I'll take the Base game and nothing more, GOG should do the same.

These "Deluxe Editions" are an insult and a ripoff.
I don't blame GOG for it happening, but do blame GOG, for it happening on their store.

My view is, if it's a condition for taking the game, tell the publisher to take the game and shove it where the sun don't shine. I'd rather not have such rubbish here, than keep seeing this bogus and blatant rubbish.
Whatever happened to adding value, when did that get changed to added cost
The Linux version of Cities in Motion is still not on GOG. This has gotten very old now. I guess it's just another game I'm not buying on GOG.
I bought Fallen Enchantress : Ultimate Edition and the Upgrade and Expansion pack won't disappear from the "Games i do not own". What's the deal with that?

Just an old gog bug. Its the same with every game that has a Collection or Ultimate Editon and several upgrade packs available.
