Nothing in the backup files changelog, but a massive update has occurred. It went from a five part download (40307) to a ten part download (54528).

Runasimi loses on a technicality
The leading producer of LIDAR hardware, Runasimi Inc, lost a case in First Enceladian Court over not exposing rangefinding capabilities in their software package. The case presented by an independent contractor hinged over a technicality of having “Ranging” present in the name of “Light Detection and Ranging” equipment. While Runasimi accepted the ruling and rolled out an OTA update to their software, the company soon retaliated by suing the contractor for unlicensed use of military-grade targeting hardware.

Obonto shackles companions
Obonto Microengineering in cooperation with Nakamura Dynamics rolled out an unexpected upgrade to its popular reconnaissance drone. By cleverly subverting the standard SANBUS protocol of modern ships the upgraded drone is able to remotely inject operational imperatives to the class-2 artificial intelligence of Nakamura-Titan Mining Companions, enabling captains to direct the notoriously quirky drones with commands that they cannot disobey. AI researchers raised concerns over the possible unexpected side effects of connecting AI systems with a remote network.

Salvage audits across the station
With an increasing number of independent contractors entering the salvage operations industry, Enceladus Corp is conducting a station-wide audit of the salvage logs. Station authorities will search for both illegitimate salvages and any unusual salvage patterns that might suggest foul play.

Maintenance Logs
- LIDAR display now shows scale.
- Autopilot overlay for all autopilots will now show relative velocity and distance to your current target.
- Nakamura-Titan Mining Companions now communicate with each other using your onboard Ship Area Network BUS, coordinating efforts to capture multiple ore nuggets at the same time.
- NT mining companions can now be controlled with Obonto Microengineering Guiding Drone.
- The dive summary screen will now list who brought in which nugget, making it easier to estimate the performance of hired miner wingmen and mining companions.
- Ore carried by Mining Companions could be lost when they returned to Enceladus on their own.
- Non-player controlled ships equipped with salvage arms won’t transfer ships they capture to the player.
- Ships salvaged in the rings will now show up in your ship logs.
- Eagle Prospector autopilot would trigger an alarm siren if you flew over 50m/s with an FBW-enabled autopilot and used WASD controls while pressing the right mouse button to orient your ship.
- When launching a Cothon-212 with an empty beacon cradle in front low-stress mount and another cradled equipment fitted in the back, the latter was inadvertently released during the launch sequence.
- In some regions of the rings, a map seam caused a number of glitches, including thruster flares not being visible on visual feed, ships orienting in a wrong direction during astrogation and astrogating backwards.
- Pirate traps near moonlets won’t be present on peaceful difficulty anymore.
- DLC are now properly recognized and loaded on OSX systems.

Fix a bug with the tooltip for some Maddened Elderlings

Added a "corrosive finale" to the Corrosive Guardian/Guardpost. When these units die, they do one last AOE blast centered on itself to spray corrosive damage. Adjusted these both to specialize against low armor units
Added orbital versions of the Corrosive Guardpost
Plagueswarm Elderling/Flagship (and their children) now do corrosive damage (DOT)
Remade the Chain Lightning Frigate into the Corrosive Frigate
Needed to have this new weapon mechanic show up for normal human games and this splash frigate was the logical choice
Increased hacking bounty from Templar Structures
Noticed my hacking points were actually overly limited! No more drowning in hacking points, so increased the value of these
Templar Sovereign now takes 45 minutes to build a Runed castles (instead of 2 seconds)
Forgot to change this back after testing this mechanic
Increased the Skeleton/Wight/Mummy amplifier to have a bonus chance to create another one to 35/25/15 (from 10/10/10)
These amplifiers were just not that enticing at a mere 10%
Bone Dragons C.Lightning now hits all mobile ships instead of only strikecraft and frigates
Weak Skeletons harmonic max damage cap reduced by half

Another huge batch of DLC3 art is now completed and integrated. In all it's about 70 pieces.
All of the remaining Templar units are in place (except the hospitaller, which is temporarily using another ship's graphics).
All of the venator untis are in.
The migrant wormhole.
Showdown device.
All of the brutal guardians and their related devices, etc.
All of the destroyers.
All of the new strikecraft and frigates.
All of the new AI nasty picks.
In general there are still 107 items to do, 59 of which are for DLC3. So this was a solid 40% or so of the remaining work for all this! (These numbers don't quite match yesterday because some things got added).

Bugfixes

Fixed a bug where Exogalactic War Units would wind up getting diverted to the wrong targets

Remove a restriction that prevented the player from moving a miner probe onto a player-owned planet. This allows players to shoot themselves in the foot (or grief eachother during MP)

Fixed a bug where a wave would spawn on its home world instead of the expected planet.
This could happen only in games with 2 or more AIs. In more detail, when a wave from one AI was planned to spawn on another AI's planet, it would fail a check to find such planet and therefore default to spawning on its home world.

Tourists will have an icon in mini map now, when they want to buy something.
Added button to cancel or accept quest from town board. All quests will appear again at some point.
Items in inventory now has a bar for spoilage or resistance.
You can delete items from your inventory pressing "Delete".

Changed the worth value of all meals and drinks, based on required items and a new bonus value (which makes the crafted item a fair value).
Respawn changed from 29 days (everything destroyed) to 20 days.
Respawn changed from 20 days (everything harvested/collected) to 15 days.

Tourists no longer have collision with the player.
Animals no longer have collision with the player.

Updated from 0.480.5 to 0.481.0 for Windows and Linux, and to 0.481.0a for Mac.
No update for the demo.

There's no official announcement of this version releasing either here or on steam, while the version number is listed as an experimental release from two days ago. Changelog for that, as posted by the developer in the forum:
0.481.0 just [hit] the experimental branch, featuring a number of gamepad control improvements:
- Your own cradled equipment won't be targeted with gamepad targeting sweep.
- Time is now slowed down when you are targeting with gamepad sweep.
- Your ship will point towards your autopilot target. You can still adjust the direction with the right analogue stick, but it will snap back when you release it.
- Tapping R3 will disengage the current autopilot lock now - without disengaging the autopilot.
- You can order your guiding drone with a gamepad by pressing L3 while you are doing R3 autopilot targeting sweep.
