MaGo72: It would be great if journalists of big newspapers would put up the truths a bit earlier. Before they get killed and people argue about progressive and not progressive.
TStael: And here you pimp up "first world problems" of journalism.
Because it suits your agenda. But when it does not - I bet you are quite critical.
Feminists have bit of a "first world problems" because mostly no-one mutilates their genitalia.
And those of non-polite or "not that much naturally privileged" origin - say "dark" ethnicity, or female, or homo or lesbo, or prole etc.
We all have bit of a "first world problem" because our voices could be heard to challenge the fact that privilege begets privilege. But we are no longer literal slaves and all that!
MaGo72 - whether u wish to cocoon in yer intellectual dishonestly innocently or ideologically, the good journalists of privilege plausibly would be principled, and care about making information available to us.
The hard, even basic, journalism of our time in totalitarian or unlawful states - great number of journalists are killed for being honest and principled to their profession.
I put it to you, MaGo72: you view gaming "journalism" as a PR function for the games you like.
A civilian journalist was killed in ISIS occupied lands, and posthumously exploited to trap her mates or sympathisers.
And all those journalists killed on job, even in countries where gaming might not be a casual hobby?
Edit: what was (*) I am no longer sure, but what I shall have wanted to put to MaGo72 I know. ;-)
lol all he said was that journos who don't go out in the field and only have the simple duty of putting up news as soon as it comes up as accurately as possible are failing at doing that. You can either see it as a problem that does or does not exist based on your own experiences. But it certainly isn't ''first world problems'' because that kind of sloppiness is what separates the people who are willing to die to get the truth across and people who would rather stick with the trends and go along with it (which is the exact thing real journalists exist to destroy) until some real reporting confirms it.
Journalism has a minimum standards universally, and people who don't meet that are just bad journalists, and people who point that out aren't instantly agenda driven.
