Pheace: That Foosball'd completely die out in my hometown and apparently in most of the Netherlands :(
My brother was amazing. He'd go against tournament winners and never have a point scored against him. I'd play about 40 points on before I'd get one.
No money in it though.
For me, phones. The amount people pay every month just to check Facebook is nuts. I've heard young kids say they have$200 phone bills and they're broke. It's crazy. What could you possibly be doing worth $200? Buy a cheap plan and save your money. Retirement is so much better than Facebook (or Instagram or Snapchat or any of that crap).
Donald Trump being president. That one still gets me. Overall, he's done a much better job than I expected. News won't give him an inch but the truth is out there (XXX files in this case). My favorite was that news said in one breath that the wall was useless and never going to work and that the wall was keeping out 3000 migrants who were trying to enter illegally without normal asylumm process and that was enough. (Edot:. I should add that I expected complete and utter failure. I still think we're spending way too much, but am happy about immigration movement, economic moves, Korea movement).
I'm blown away that the u.s. had people who are against being a nation of laws.
I would never guess that the u.s. would abort 1.2 million babies every year. That is just staggering to me. And young people just don't have babies anymore. All of my friends under 30 have no plans to have children. My married nieces and nephews have only had one so far. I sort of expected more. We were drilled about overpopulation and hardly being able to drive or walk in the future, but now the birth rate is so small that growth isn't happening. ( This is USA of course - works is still growing). Only 3.9 million births per year.
Gas is still here. I sat in a class and was told that when I was 40, fossil fuels would be gone or to expensive to purchase.
The price of video games and computers. For$100, you can grab a raspberry pi and download enough games to last the rest of your life. Or pay $20000 for all the options to drive a train. Or pay $600,000 for a single building in a multiplayer game.
I would never imagine people still playing empire Earth. I thought my family were the only crazy ones still playing it.
Lastly, bully-shaming. I'm amazed that we treat bullies so poorly. Bullies are people too. They need corrected, sure. But no bully when they are 10 are bullies when they're 40. Well, few anyway. Most are struggling with issues. So certainly, stop the bullying. But I've seen some pretty ugly stuff come out where the perceived bully is viciously bullied by a community. And often, the bully doesn't realize he or she is the bully. They may even be simply retaliating and that a sneakier bully is seeing them up.
