Looks like they made the teaser with only a few effects to make it viewable.

It's clearly unfinished, sometimes it looks like the leaked X-men origins: Wolverine workprint.

Spinorial: Presumably, the Civil War isn't quite wrapped up yet. As to Stormtroopers, they were never clones, but regular recruits. Though, with all the previous expanded canon wiped, there's no telling.
The new "Rebels" animated series is canon, at least I think so, and there was an episode about stormtrooper recruits training, so they still are just regular recruits. Though why the Emperor would prefer that to the army of super-clones he had is beyond me.
It looked good but this teaser reminded me that Star Wars fans are bunch of whining drama queens. I have never ever seen so much complaints about so little footage in my life. It is like they are going to complaining about everything whether it is good or bad. It kind of gives no hope to this new movie, they can't win.

real.geizterfahr: And, yes, the CGI looks damn good for CGI. Horrible CGI is one of the main reasons why I hate the the prequels and the original "extended-special-enhanced-Greedo-shots-first" trilogy -.- The ball droid is a bit meh, but the X-Wings look REALLY good.
Glad im not the only one - yesss the XWings look impressive as did the millenium falcon doing its thing .
Its only a teaser but what can people make out from the bits from the teaser?. light sabre with a cross hilt (or whatever its called), possible bad dude wandering through dark forest, storm troopers locked and loaded...helmetless storm trooper?.

Elmofongo: "Gulp"

Enough of a flop to piss off the likes of Angry Game Nerd, Nostalgia Critic, and Moviebob?
they have a custom to circle jerk whenever the crowd's reaction goes towards a current product, in other words, a bandwagon, to which I answer yes, they will talk about the movie, probably 1-2 weeks after it comes to theaters and some will talk about the series as a whole, but oh well, let's enjoy the cup of "objectivity" from the moviebob, that is at least what I am waiting for really, even if he is sometimes full of shit, but that is because he is too humble with his sources and doesn't research all that much with a fucking passion, looking at gamergate videos intensifies

rtcvb32: What's with the storm troopers? To my understanding they were leftovers from the clone wars....

Hmmm.... Doesn't make sense. I mean, I enjoyed watching the animated series before it got cut; Due to the sheer number of the same clones having the same face you can obviously tell why in the first three movies (4-6) they never showed their faces, since it would have been too difficult to edit out; And the storm troopers were the only ones to wear that particular armor as far as I know.

A little OT, I recognized early on the voice actor of Aniken (in the clone wars) also did Bob from Reboot... Almost be funny if Megabyte got patched through the radio to talk to him, and he'd say something like "We both know who you used to be.... Bob..."
Lol at the cross light saber, do the Sith work for the Pope now?

This....doesn't look very good honestly...

Breja: Exactly. And we already know all that. People wanted to ba amazed, awed, and what we got was just mediocre. What little was shown was very unimpressive. I would be more impressed if we got a 30 second teaser with nothing else then a close up of someone constructing a lightsabre, with some well wrtitten narration by Mark Hamill. At least that would be something special. This just looks so generic.
I thought developing a teaser which played heavily on Starwars 40 year legacy and hyped up the old fans to a frothing boil wasn’t such a great idea and would immediately put it under the shadow of the holy trilogy when it should be trying to break out on its own. Always be careful using nostalgia to sell tickets, for it is a double-edged sword.

Interesting. In A New Hope Luke initially wants to join the Imperial Academy, so one assumes the Empire recruits normal men and women in the original films (or at the very least, officers and pilots).

I guess the clones were good for the actual conquering the galaxy part, but as an occupation force they desperately need humanizing. When there’s a bunch of guys wearing the same uniform with their faces covered up, people instinctively feel a certain way about that. Learning they were clones would be icing on the fascism cake.

Why? Because we have X-Wings and TIEs back, instead of those streamlined (it's important to reduce drag in space!) crap fighters from EP I-III? Or because things look dirty and used again, instead of fabric new? Or is it the lensflare effect during the scene with the Falcon that ruined the whole teaser (I'm sure they put this in deliberately, because that's what everyone "feared" with Abrams doing the film)?

Sorry, I don't get it. The trailer doesn't tell us anything, except that the CGI is way better than in EP I-III and that we get back the look of EP IV-VI, which is a huge relief to me. I'm sick of Naboo starfighters, podracers and droid armies. Only this ball droid thing looks like something from EP I-III. But even here's some hope... Let me share some thoughts.

The ball droid seems to be running away from something and in the background you can see old and rotting parts of something that looks like an engine of a podracer (note that there are more broken and half buried parts behind the huge engine). After that scene, we get Stormtroopers, an old looking speeder with a horribly inefficient and bulky design (just like everything in the original trilogy looked like), X-Wings, the Millenium Falcon and some TIEs. This could be a small hint that they dumped the EP I-III look! Everything from the new trilogy is either rotting like the pod engines, or running away like that ball droid, because the look of the original trilogy is coming back ;)

At least there is no Lens Flare in the Light Sabers.........yet.

Hmmm...
Made me think about a new lightsaber technique they might come up with. A lightsaber with a blinding flashlight attack!
I don't know why but this new star wars film have massively tickled my mind for making bad jokes and seeing every news in a absurdly humoristic way.

Edit: Time to read The diary of a crazed Minbanite again.
