JMich: It will never be good enough to overcome your despise of their other practices. For someone who doesn't care about those practices though, the method they do their patching does matter.
I having trouble comprehending that there are those that value their self-worth, hypothetical wife & children, hypothetical vacation day, hypothetical whatever so little that they are willing endure all kinds of onerous BS just so they can have whatever reskinned, retreaded, regurgitated, AAA game & the "just-after-release" patches necessitated because the publisher forced the developer to cut corners as soon as possible and not a microsecond later.

amok: what the blooming heck have patching and patching system got to do with DRM?
Reference was made to another platform that delivers "the better experience". I asked what was this platform that delivers "the better experience" that included unequivocal descriptions of what I would consider "the better experience". I still haven't gotten a direct response to my question, 'What is this mythical other platform that delivers "the better experience"?"
Are you trying to say that gOg need to implement DRM to do micro-patching or deliver direct patches through Galaxy?
Could you directly quote any post where I unequivocally stated that GOG needed to implement DRM to do micro-patching or deliver direct patches through Galaxy? I do not recall ever vaguely even thinking anything of that sort, let alone actually posting anything like it. If you are unable to do so, then why are you heading down this straw man path?

Are so many others' lives so unfulfilled that they absolutely, positively have to have their games patched ASAP and not a nanosecond later or else their entire world is going to cave in on them? No one else has no other hobbies or resonsibilities that they cannot in any shape or form wait until after the beginning of the following workweek?

The better experience in terms of patching. YOU brought in DRM. I have no idea why....

I had no idea why you brought it up... it baffled me. DRM was not an issue in this tread before you came of with your rant.

And yes, in terms of patching here you have two groups.

-Group 1 get to play their game over the weekend with less bugs

-Group 2 get to play their game over the weekend with more bugs.

For people who work and may only have time play during the weekend - which group do you think they would like to be in? What here would they see as a "better service"?

(Remember, this is talking about patching only. Do not shift the goalposts.)

Who talked about AAA games? Why do you assume that the publisher and the developer are different entities? And what kind of onerous BS are you talking about? Buying a retail game that has all the data on disc, with no DRM attached, but also no auto patching mechanism? Is that the onerous BS you are referring to?
And why wouldn't a caring and loving husband and father deserve a few days to himself, to pursue a hobby he likes, especially if it's something that he doesn't get a chance to do that often?
