seikus: I started this, i hope it´s help us. I have 162 rep about one week ago.

http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/show_who_downgrade_reputation
I lost 7 points today, from 430 down to 423. That kind of hit isn't uncommon. And I haven't posted much (if at all) this past week because I've been busy playing Pillars of Eternity. I'd guess that SJWs are to blame, targeting me for old comments in defense of gamergate or otherwise not conforming to the "right" views.

But your solution won't solve the problem. Downreppers will simply use alternate accounts to avoid having their main accounts targeted for revenge.

As I explained in another thread, some of us have simply given up fighting the abuse (because neither GOG nor the majority of GOGers seem to care) and now retaliate in kind against "the other team" or those we think likely to be the culprits. Eye for eye, so we all go blind (or lose rep), because GOG won't fix a broken system.

Some time ago, I created a wishlist entry to remove the downvote option:

http://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/remove_option_to_downvote_downrep

but that page now redirects to an unrelated wish, meaning that my entry was probably deliberately falsely tagged as a duplicate to get it removed.

I like Obsidian's system of post count coupled with the ability to publicly "Like" posts (tho they censor and moderate too much).

Or perhaps a simple thumbs-up/thumbs-down count (ala YouTube) for each post.

Seriously?
My rep took a free fall from 200+ rep. Never bitched about it. :P

Tarnicus: 1\ message GOG staff. No point as they have far better things to occupy there time with, and my experience (after messaging them about this) is no, they are not 'listening to us', they are a growing business who wishes to make money and not look after children.
Actually, they lost me as a customer because of this. My money doesn't go to people who support and encourage public abuse of their customers and general sniping by anonymous bullies. Oh, I buy the occasional game on deep discount, but for the most part I've been gone from here for months. I don't trust GOG any more - they drove me right back to Steam, where I will stay. Company-sponsored abuse in the forums is not how you grow a business.

Yeah, stick it to the man! Go to steam, where ganging up, user abuse, and general forum nastiness is non existant!

How many pages did you have to search back to in order to find this thread? I guess after a year it needed resurrecting? :P

Hah I was surprised to log onto this site for the first time in a month, as I rarely frequent it now but still stay in touch with some via here, to find this thread continuing!

I can understand your perspective, especially since it was the nurturing of a small and close knit community that made GOG a success in the beginning. Slowly but surely that changed as numbers increased and the direction and focus changed to try and become a bigger player in the market, rather than the niche market GOG originally held.

GOG lost my patronage over a year ago, and I'm sure my 500+ purchases over 4 years make little difference with their market expansion. I chose to stop spending here as regional pricing countered their bullshit "one world, one price" statement, and my region of the world copped it severely. When they regionally priced The Witcher 3 ridiculously, so much so that it was cheaper on Steam, I couldn't handle the hypocrisy. I find it hilariously ironic that they make use of Steam's DRM, which is completely optional, whilst positioning themselves as a leader in the DRM-free movement. One or the other, it cannot be both.

Just because you disagree with someone's rationale for choosing to patronise or avoid shopping somewhere does not make it any less valid. The Steam forums are generally far more amicable than you suggest, and your snide comment is a perfect example of the clique-like bullshit that goes on these forums whenever anyone expresses a critical opinion of GOG.

I just noticed that from time to time people would complain about loosing rep points like crazy, so I just used the search function to see if there's a dedicated thread for that. This one had by far the coolest title, so I figured I'd necro this one.
low rated
I've been having issues with rep, but more serious is that:

1. I have noticed, in many cases, that a good post in a non-controversial topic that I make is "low rated". What's wrong with talking about video games in a topic about video games?

2. Even worse, sometimes I see a topic I am interested in be "low rated", which has the effect of making it not apparent that there are new posts in the topic. This makes it much harder to follow the topic. I have even seen this for non-political topics, like some of the topics I have made about video games.
