No Man's Sky a science-fiction game set in an infinite procedurally generated galaxy, is available to pre-order now — DRM-free on GOG.com

Intergalactic travel changes the notion of time. Unimaginable speeds connect impossibly distant worlds, dilating lifetimes, blending generations. A round-trip may find your world aged and unrecognizable, separated from your loved ones, irrevocably alien. In an intergalactic society, only the few set off towards the stars — explorers, those unafraid and with nothing to lose. They set off never to come back as far as our lifetimes are concerned. And thus, we still look up at an infinite sky, now within our reach, yet still untouched — a no man's land, a No Man's Sky.

No Man's Sky promises discovery of an infinite, uncharted universe. Its billions of stars, planets, unknown living creatures, breathtaking sights and lonely wastelands — all seamlessly connected — populated with explorers drawn to the distant mysteries of the horizon, eager to leave a permanent mark in their wake.
The frontier is merciless and dangerous. Exposed to a universe of extremities in your fragile suit and ship, you'll need resources and upgrades to get far — as well as the means stand your ground in fight.
Whether you journey to the center of it all or seek out the farthest reaches of existence, the trip will not be simple or dull. You'll catalogue things unseen, discover alien artifacts and reveal mysteries of the universe. If you survive.

The pre-order incentive for No Man's Sky includes the Horizon Omega ship — faster engines, better guns, all to kickstart your trip and help you survive longer on the interstellar journey.

this sounds basically like my dream game, but I don't think it'll run on my measly intel hd 4000 powered laptop. Glad to see it here though!
Does anyone have details on how multiplayer will work.
Details seem sketchy.

haydenaurion: $60 is a bit steep for me on a game i'm not sure can deliver on its promises, but I can't deny that this is a huge get for gog. Good to see it here.
Pretty much exactly how I feel about it. 60+ bucks for a digital pre-order is a big "nope" from me.

And yet, I gotta admit this does look interesting, and it's definitely a nice addition to GOG's library.

You are GOG. You do not use the words "preorder incentive".

Nah, the pre-order exclusives seem shitty.
Huh, I thought this was a Sony exclusive. Colour me doubly surprised to see it here.
I thought this was meant to be a Playstation exclusive? Or was that just exclusive as in not on other consoles?

Way too pricey for me and doubtful it will run on my laptop. But great that's it's DRM free and on GoG from launch. Might pick it up in a few years time when it's cheaper and I can actually play it...
Still pretty damn skeptical of this game, and honestly did not expect it to be a $60 game. Will definitely wait til release, and probably a price drop.

Wouldn't mind this either. I read a preview a few years back in print. The bulk of what was discussed then seemed almost like a "Dark Souls" sort of "shared world." So all players existed in this one gameworld (think central server?). And players could choose to upload / update star maps and knowledge of the world as they discovered it.

Beyond that, I'm not sure. I'm assuming some PVP and maybe even light partying together? Maybe Destiny / MMO lite stuff? I'd love further details as well.

Most of all (I doubt there's a flicker of flame in hell it'll matter to me LOL) I'd like to know more about what I'd lose NOT logging in to the central server. I'm guessing I still get a loose campaign / quest beyond the main sandbox gameplay and I'm hoping that will be enough to keep the game interesting. Like I said, there's probably nothing that will dissuade me from giving this a shot, but I'd like to know I'm not going to be just puttering around in an empty world LOL ;)
I hope that ship can be bought later in-game or something.

Barry_Woodward: Have we had a release with a regional roll-out like that before?

Konrad: Nope, this is a first. I'm pretty sure this is meant to coincide with brick-and-mortar release dates.
Grumble, now to see which release dates to use in the spreadsheet...
70 dollars? Wow.
Definitely looks interesting. This one will have to sit on the wishlist for a while.
Edit: The requirements don't look bad for a game this vast. I'll wait for some impression videos, but this is still very much appreciated to show up here. Sooner or later it will be a buy for me.
