JK41R4: Hmm, I can only vaguely remember playing Duck Hunt on an NES when I was younger. My memories of most of it were hazy, but, unsurprisingly, I can remember that dog snickering at me whenever I missed enough times (though it never really upset me).
It's interesting to note that this game is one that technology has left behind; the game will not properly work on an LCD or plasma monitor. It will only work on a CRT monitor. (The Virtual Console version, I believe, has been modified to work with the Wii U's hardware instead of using the Light Gun the original version used.)
I have many console classics on a multi emulator thingy on my HTPC. Funny thing is, I didn't have any consoles when I was a kid, in my neighborhood 8-bits computers were the rage instead (spectrum, c64, that stuff). I discovered them many years later and I was blown away, so nostalgia doesn't play any part in my enjoyment of these games.

My most impressive achievement was finishing super mario bros 3 a few years ago. It was sort of my 'summer project' during holidays; it took me like a month and a half to finish, and I did it without using cheats, although to be honest I did use the emulator's savegame feature, which I guess it might qualify as cheating. But in my defense I am a family man so I don't have loads of spare time anymore.

Does the NES Classic have a savegame feature? because it would be extremely useful for those people like me with no chance to spend looooong gaming afternoons.

Yes, it will.

Save your game with Suspend Points
Pick up right where you left off with four Suspend Point slots for each game. Just press the Reset button while playing to return to the HOME menu and save your progress to a slot. Have a perfect run going? You can lock your save file and resume at a later time so there's no danger of losing your progress.

RayRay13000: Kind of interested in picking this up despite owning a few of those games already via Virtual Console and other means (Mega Man Legacy Collection). Been meaning to try Ninja Gaiden since I really like the 3D Action games.

tinyE: If you start to play Ninja Gaiden get ready for a lot of screaming, hair pulling, and NO MORE SLEEP!!!! :P

You start to see those dogs whenever you close your eyes. :P
I hate that game with a passion haha

iRevolt: What's with exclusivity to Brazilian Market? Sounds strange to me.
Gatodelasnieves said it all, pal ;P
was totally on board.

then learned that it has no way to connect to the internet. so those are the games.

it's totally fallen off my radar, since.

[because if it sells like gangbusters, around this time next year, you'll be able to buy the "nes classic 2" with different games, until nintendo get bored of the project and shelve it.]

they missed a trick there with making the cardridge port just cosmetic
it could have hidden an sd card reader and they could have sold game packs on sd card

but nope that would have made too much sense

still its decent for what it is cause nes games are ridicilously expensive these days

i'm fairly convinced they didn't. if there's one thing nintendo does, it's to trade on their nostalgia factor like there's no tomorrow. so, internally, i'm almost sure the logic has been: "if we can sell this for $60 this year, we can make another one and sell it for $60 next year."

i'd almost be willing to bet that the logic extends a little further, too: "we can even recycle some of the games."

[and remember, nintendo can only put onto these "classic boxes" what they have access to through agreements-of-sale. so, they might be able to come to an agreement with - say - capcom for megaman, because capcom still exist and you can get hold of their lawyers, but obscure/dead to the annals of time stuff, well...if you're interested in that, you're going to have to play it through...questionable means.]

plus, there's that omnipresent ridiculousness of "nintendo gonna nintendo." [cf: the name of the wiiu. and how difficult it was to move stuff from one 3ds to another for the longest time.]

i wouldnt be surprised if they already have a nes classic 2 packaed and waiting in warehouses in mainland china
this thing will sell like gangbusters
cause rehashes and nostalgia is what nintendo does best ( and seems to be the only thing they got left )
I read that the controller cord is "comically short". Something in the area of 35 inches (89 cm). So one may have to consider an HDMI extension cord to bring the mini console closer, which it seems is desirable anyway, in order to access the menu by hitting reset.

RayRay13000: I played through the 3D Ninja Gaiden games, which had plenty (and I do mean plenty) of hair pulling moments at times. What's the worse that can happen?
3D? This is NES!

You'll curse those damn bats and hawks. If a kid can cuss, he'll cuss this one.
