UPDATE: We've added a new option to the Privacy settings in GOG Profiles - from now on you can turn off your profile on GOG entirely, so no one can see any kind of information that is shown on the profile page. This also means that when you turn off your profile, you won’t be visible on your friends’ friends lists, even if they decide to keep their profiles visible.
The option to enable/disable your GOG Profile can be found in your account „Privacy & Settings” options, under „Privacy” tab.

We just introduced a new feature on GOG.COM: User Profiles – a social way to share what you and your friends are up to. See what your friends on GOG are playing, achieving, and sharing across four sections – Feed, Profile, Games and Friends.

Your Feed is the centerpiece of your Profile. Here, you’ll see which games your friends have been playing, all sorts of achievements and milestones, as well as general thoughts, screenshots, and forum activity. You can dispense your approval at whim and share your own stuff as well!

Your Profile is all about you and your gaming accomplishments. It's a summary of your activity, like the time you've spent in your games , your latest achievements (and just how rare they are among other users), as well as a glimpse at what your most active friends have been up to.

If you want to know more about your Games, you need to hit the the third tab. It contains a list of all the games you own on GOG, together with stats like time spent in-game and your progress towards unlocking the achievements. Sort the list, compare stats with your friends, and get some healthy competition going.

Finally – your Friends: get a general summary of their achievements and hours played. Here you'll also see which games are the most popular among your friends right now, so you can join them in multiplayer or find something you might enjoy yourself.

Of course, your profile comes with some sweet personalization options, choose a wallpaper from your game collection and share a few words with the world.

User Profiles are available for all GOG.COM users. Your personal gameplay stats like achievements, time played and milestones depend on GOG Galaxy, but if you’re not using the optional client you can still use the feed, post in it and interact with your friends.

Launching profiles also means adding new privacy settings on our end. You'll find three new Privacy options in your account's „Privacy & settings” area. These settings allow you to set the visibility for your profile summary, your games, your friends, etc.
So what are you waiting for? There's so much room for activities!

Vainamoinen: Privacy issues aside, the feed is completely useless to me if I can't get rid of all the Galaxy stuff.

Where can I deactivate that?

I don't want to know about achievements, milestones or what my friends started playing. It's cluttering the whole feed.

I DO want to know about their thoughts, reviews, and forum topics etc., so how do I make that feed useful?
feed is useful ! you
can upload pictures of your choise and have them in decent sized previews on said feed... :)
you can post this awesome screenshot of your badassitude in dat latest cool game... or post pics of your kitty or doggy... or... well... whatever

I do NOT want my games owned, achievements reached or hours played (or anything else) to be shared with or visible to ANYONE.

Give me an option to disable that.
So when's the GOG app coming?

That is why I won't ever install GOG Galaxy. And I also won't buy any game, if there won't be (offline) installers without GOG Galaxy.

paladin181: Forum pop. And jeez you guys suck about not giving prior notice to everyone.

Djaron: they did, just 3 days ago, on friday, before weekend and GOG office closed for the weekend:

you were supposed to be informed already !
I didn't get any Mail from GOG, so I've been NOT informed. It was more or less coincidence that I saw it in the forums.
Now we need the ability to change our profile name.

I signed up here in 2011, since then I've changed the name I use, having a seven year old name associated with a public profile makes me actually want the ability to alter my name now when I never really cared all that much before.

You have the option. Check your privacy settings.

Edit: My bad. No you don't.

Djaron: i think it is useless to send support ticket
it is not a bug or an error, it's intended and they wont have any solution for that, as it is not to be fixed
avatar
vanchann: It doesn't matter. I have already sent the ticket.
I asked for disabling the prifile page for my account and the relative link.

Dissatisfaction should be expressed!
I encourage everyone who doesn't like that publicity to send a ticket too!
+1 I have also sent them a ticket approximately 3 hours ago (no reply yet) and requested an option to make user profiles invisible for all those who care for their privacy. And I have added a new feature request...

https://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/disable_view_profile_function_for_customers_who_care_for_their_privacy

If enough customers send them support tickets we may still be able to convince them to change this unwanted optoin!
I smell a class action lawsuit Gog! XD

coreyblueexclusive: CDprojectRed has two upcoming games that have optional online multiplayer.Cyberpunk 2077 and another one that doesn't any information yet,it's gonna be real interesting when that time comes.Right now what I see is the platform getting ready for these big games.I'm excited for GoG's future honeslty.
and i would safely bet that those game wont work without every GOG's new social features and such turned on/set to public (you know... for the sake of the "user experience"... single player game cant possibly function correctly without a permanent online connection for social features to keep you connected with your digital family of 274 friends)

i guess Cyberpunk will requires Galaxy too

remind me, exactly... what did "DRM" mean ? just to be sure...
I don't know if it's always been this way, but my play time for games is wrong on just about every game. Is there just something weird about how GoG tracks playtime that I never noticed before now or is it some sort of mixup?

they posted a blue thread in some section of the general forum 3 days ago... that was supposed to be enough "information" for you :)

(just kidding you... of course you SHOULD have been sent an email...)

You should send a ticket to the support. They can change your username.

Playtime is only added when you start the game through Galaxy. If you are like me you sometimes start through Galaxy and sometimes just through the link in your desktop or in the game folder. That might be a reason for strange playtime numbers.
