TomNuke: Is age verification enough? Valve actually does have age verification in place already on its store.
Err .... no, they don't. sking somebody to enter their (imagined) age is not age verification - it might be a party game but it is not proper age verification ;) Like I said, many online stores in Germany that sell goods which requires age verification (i.e. movies) have proper age verification integrated so it's nothing Valve of GOG wasn't able to do. But anyway. this thread should be about the game and not about Germany and their crazy politicians :)

GHOSTMD: Well a shame GoG removed the age verification, so no Subverse for germany, ladys and gentlemen.
Kinda weird though, since the common age verification should be enough for this game. As it was
visible for us all along.
GOG never HAD proper age verification. Stating that you are 18+ is no age verification at all. It might help you if you are at work and don't want others to offend - but it is no proper age verification at all.

Yeah, and let me guess... proper age verification for Germany is going to screw everyone else over, right? That's reason enough alone to not do it.

What is "proper" age verification for Germany? How do you do it without screwing me over? I think if Valve had the answer to this question they would have done it. If it was easy enough, didn't interfere with the rest of the worlds customers, and there was enough money to be made in the German market then Valve surely would have done it. The fact that they haven't already says everything anyone needs to know, in my opinion at least.

Probably will be coming at some point. Square Enix removed Denuvo from Rise and Shadow a week or so ago, and it was already hinted here that more Tomb Raider was coming when they released 2013, Legend, Anniversary, and Underworld.

Maybe they show up for this years Winter sale?

Is here some Playstation Store user from outside Germany? You need to use your ID card on any 18+ title here (maybe even 16+ - I can't recall, since I am not spending so much anymore there).

Those of you who use the other Playstations Stores - are you "screwed" by ID checks?

Again with the "everybody else" argument and I fail to understand it. Right now if a person is from Germany the game gets blocked. With proper age verification IF A PERSON IS FROM GERMANY the age verification takes place. Where's the proplem?

As I said multiple times, it already exists in multiple German online stores and it is no magic or even extremely complicated. Proper age verification IN GERMANY i.e. can be done by letting yourself be identified in a post office - as a matter of fact I did this today to buy an 18+ movie in a german online store.
Am I the only one thinking this game would be more interesting without the porn? And I don't mean it in a "porn evil" way.

I feel somewhat indifferent about the x-rated part of the game. If it helps establish a mood and give you a vibe about the characters, that's fine, though I tend to get my jollies elsewhere (similar to GoT, I didn't really mind the nudity and sexuality when it fit the story, though it certainly wasn't the reason I was tuning in to watch it).

In the end, sexuality is interwoven in the narrative of our lives. Whatever tropes enables the creators of the game to implement their vision really...

Honestly, you have no idea how complicated it would be to implement something like that on Steam. You're basically talking out of your rear end. Just because some German online stores have it, and you think it isn't complicated doesn't mean it's going to be the same for Steam, or even GOG.

And I'll say again, that if it was easy to do, and Valve thought there was enough money to be made in Germany to make up any of the cost they would have done it. And as we all know they haven't, so what does that tell you?

I can see how that would work in GERMAN store, where people from other countries rarely buy anything, let alone 18+ content. Are you sure what would happen if someone from outside your country tried to buy something there? Sure, they could just turn off age verification, but I'd bet more on the "sorry, germans only" message.
so, how's about Hatred for the folks that want it? I believe Agony is supposed to show up when some fixes are finished.
I figured it out. They won't make the game page available on Steam unless you login.

So, I have to create an account on Steam in order to see the reviews users posted for the game.

I don't know about this game, but I feel dirty now.

GOG uses RNG to pick their games you know. Though the games you state are absolutely attrociously bad, there are games released on GOG that are also subpar, which means that there is no excuse why these two examples of yours aren't on here already.

Meanwhile, there were indie game devs asking GOG to release their games on here, some who already have games released on this store. No clue what is happening to GOG internally but it all seems so weird. GOG is in huge need of an actual roadmap with some good ol transparency regarding what games are released when and what games will for sure be forever rejected. Like an actual list with release dates, including old game releases. What we have now is a "TBD" which always seems out of date.

You have to do that because the game is Adults Only. If you're not logged in and have that kind of content enabled in your Store Preferences you won't see the game.

If you have questions or something you'd like to know, just tell me and I'll do the work for you and get you the information you want.

While other games use sex/romance options to spice things up, this is a game with a strong sexual theme (or porn, if you prefer). It doesn't hide behind the curtains :P. There's room for both.

Agony is coming soon, and that's already confirmed.

I'd be fine with Hatred coming to GOG also. Why hasn't it? Who knows. Perhaps the Hatred devs don't want to be on GOG. Shocker I know, but it can happen :) and also, maybe GOG doesn't want Hatred on their store. Or maybe they have never even thought about it. Is there a Wishlist post for Hatred? Have you gave it a like?
