Did anyone ever determine if you do or do not receive the BTA content if you pay for the "higher" $15 tier while the BTA price is more expensive?

I know what the warning say when you attempt it, but...

That's because in practice it's pretty much impossible for the average price to be higher than the highest fixed tier price. The fewer giving more will be more than compensated by the few paying the minimum.

Edit: Ah, I see it's not a theoretical question. Go Gaiman! :) Makes sense, relatively low number of purchases and huge goodwill... I guess they will honor the spirit of the thing, but who knows how the system is setup. I'd also be interested to know.

Spent $1 on the base level, will start listening to it tomorrow (I just finished listening to The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch) and if I like it I'll buy the BTW. Probably won't buy the $15 level unless I really love them.

Thoughts?
Those books are mainly aimed at kids, I remember reading them when I was around 10-12 year old.

budejovice: Thoughts?
I'm thinking: WTF, I wrote BTW instead of BTA!

I'm listening to Horrorland, haven't yet finished it (I'm at chapter 15 or 16). Like Ingsoc85 said, these are kid books, aimed at ages 8-12. That would tell you that you shouldn't expect much from them. The writing is fine, the narration is good, and I'm generally enjoying listening to the story, but it's still a kid book.

I have no real problem with kid books; I have kids and I'm used to these books, even enjoy them at some level. I can really enjoy a good book aimed at 16 year olds or even lower. Still, this is a little too lacking in substance to really feel like a worthwhile listen, so IMO not worth the BTA at this level.

That said, I probably will get the BTA anyway, in the hope that my kids might listen to it one day. I don't know if there's a high chance for that, but I think that an extra $7 isn't too much to pay for that chance.

Thanks for the response! I love kids books, will definitely put down the $1 at least and consider BTW. :) I have appreciated the genre since I took a class in Children's Literature at the University of Texas. Our reading list was like 300 books long. :)
Humble added Goosebumps Horrorland 1,2,3. Considering that Horrorland is the only book I've listened to (almost at an end, I'm sure; I think I'm at Chapter 25), it's tempting to see what this series does with it. Though I really hope I won't get too much into it. There are 12 books in the series and each cost $6.99 at Downpour.

I think that instead of listening to this horror I'll switch to Dreams of Terror and Death, which I recently bought, see if I can survive that. :)
Speaking of Goosebumps, a game was released on Steam two days ago.
