Joe is Town OR Commuter is a safe-claim given by Pooka.

The safe claim might explain premature claiming. Like trent did in the only safe-claim game I saw.

Or they are scum and picked the claim themselves. Either way, we have to make a decision at some point, as the clock be ticking(13 1/2 hours or so left as of this post).

So then, will you join us on the Joe Train(tm)......or should I get more used to the possibility of having(if no one hammers) to make good on my promise in post 696?

Also true. In fact fact it doesn't have to be a Tracker or similar role. Practically any role. Even the lowly fruit vendor can disprove a commuter shot if he visisted Joe and wasn't blocked.

Really being a Commuter could also explain the claim. Is Mafia Commuter even a thing? I always though of them as Town, but I guess you never know.

But it's making you think that, isn't it? Such type of scheme (if fake) has Joe's name written all over it. As for the safe-claim part - how often do you see Commuters running around in our games? It's not like he claimed a Cop or a Tracker or something that happens to appear quite often. If I was in his shoes I'd go in exactly this direction - pick something unlikely to be in the game that plays well with the perceived narrative and go from there. Anyway, I'm not going to try and persuade you that he's lying as I'm uncertain myself, just make sure you're not giving too much credit where it might not be due.
