As for this current situation, the offending parties have been notified via PM to discontinue the heated discussion. There should be no further problems.

I probably need to reread them considering that I forgot that! I blame that concussion that I sustained.

A reminder, some of the offending parties were previously banned for a reason and were already given a second chance in this edition.

 
However, since it could get lifted anyway, it isn't permanent.

This needs to be either altered or enforced.

I don't think a ban set in this giveaway was lifted, instead people banned in the previous incarnation got a second chance, right?

Yes, I am aware of that. What she said is grounds for being banned but I had a talk with Marko to see if he was alright and if he wanted me to ban her. First off, he is doing fine and is more surprised than hurt from her words. Second, he declined to ban her so I'm going to let her attitude slide this time.

I want to reiterate here, I do not want to ban anyone. I just want people to get along and play some fun games. When it comes to being rude on the forum, I'm not going to police the entire forum. But if people send me PMs about bad attitudes, I will warn the offending person first to stop but if they continue then I will institute a temp-ban (not a perma-ban). I believe a perma-ban does nothing but removes the offending party from the situation with no chance to change. A temp-ban is a way to make the offending person think "Hey I need to think about what I've said" and maybe give them time to cool done and come back as a nicer person. Again, I do not want to ban anyone. Everyone would save me a lot of headache if they'd just be nice.

I noticed an inconsistency. In February, users Catventurer and Bumbarash91 didn't get any cooldown for winning starred game as the only contestants, yet in every subsequent case like this, winner got regular three months cooldown.

Since Catventurer already got a game in March, I believe the only right thing to do now is removing cooldown for users: GoldenCavalier, .Keys and Hurricane0440.

This has already been resolved.

I will butt in here and say that in that particular case I was bothered by Marko's post. The reply was indeed surprising in terms of where it went, and brutal, but I wouldn't call it an uncalled for response in that situation. Nothing wrong in Charodiy_UA's profile text, or if anyone else says anything similar, under these circumstances. (No idea what he writes on the forum, if anything, can't say I recall ever seeing one of his posts.) I mean, what attitude would you expect?
Saying more would be "political", but had to at least say this much.

...I'm in favor of 3, or even 4,-month cooldown myself. It's better to have many available games in the list at the same time, than return to (not so long ago) when there was none at all. More games to more (different) people.

I'm also in favor of 3 month cooldown. Longer cooldowns mean more users having the chance of getting an occasional gift from the giveaway, instead of having always the same people regularly taking advantage of the giveaway.
