Ed's a real character; in that this reply doesn't surprise me. (Honestly, I think his works are vastly overrated.)

Downtown_Special: "now that @GOGcom has started selling hidden object games, is there any chance you'd release #HiddenFolks #DRMfree on their service?"

Adriaande Jongh: "nope!"

Hidden Folks

I was looking over my past tweets and I noticed Adriaande Jongh deleted his "nope!" reply to me about releasing Hidden Folks on GOG.

Edit: He deleted his response to someone else's inquiry as well. Good news? I'm hoping.

Jon Shafer's At the Gates appears to have been rejected.

"I asked but unfortunately it looks like AtG won't be making it up onto GOG. It will be available DRM-free via the Humble Store and directly from our website on release day though."

tbh i see zero reason to not release your games on multiple platforms, the more platforms you have it on the more people you reach thus your profits may increase and with many companys t rying to compete with steam such as GOG,discord epic store etc

Looks like an interesting game, so I’m saddened gog has turned it down. Anyway I voted on the community wishlist just in case https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/jon_shafers_at_the_gates

Pheace: This sounds like a great idea for a GOGmix

You can add Full Ace Tennis Simulator to the list. Which makes complete sense considering GoG is packed with an overabundance of sports games - oh wait.

Also, you can add Wizardry to the ever-growing list of games GoG rejects in favor garbage and kickstater scams.
To me it appears that GOG always considers the potential sales / revenue above anything else. At the first sight, this makes sense from a business perspective. But in the long term they become less popular. You can see all the complaints about rejected games.

Nice game, but already on other platforms for a year --> low revenue estimated --> reject.

Day one release of pixel crap --> game is shit, but hey, day one brings money --> bring it to GOG.
You can also Add ''Unbound: worlds apart'' Already rejected and isn't even out of its Kickstarter yet.

Absolutely perfect rundown of GOG modern 'strategy'.

Down here is the reply from the creator of the game and shows the same generic rejection GOG gives all devs it turns down. Basically, everything gets turned down because of ''Too Niche''

Thank you. I'm not trying to be demanding, but I prefer that this thread be based on evidence, not conjecture.
MarZ: Tactical Base Defense, which was released yesterday on GOG, was initially rejected as being "too niche", as usual. Fortunately, they changed their mind.
