The Human Centipede. It sounds interesting, but I'm afraid it is a bit too graphic. But I still want to see it.

Same goes for several other sick(?) movies, many of which are for some reason Japanese. Like:

Ichi the Killer
Audition
Suicide Club 1-2 (not sure if these really are violent, or merely have a sick plot)
Un chien andalou (Andalucian Dog? Doesn't it start with the slicing of an eyeball?)
etc.

Then again, I'm probably fretting too much. I was also a bit nervous at first to watch Saw movies or Hostel 1-3, but they were pretty meh overall (for graphic violence). I didn't lose any sleep over them after all.

Still, I prefer my violence nice and clean, thank you.

^ thought ichi the killer was boring and over rated but thats me

un chien de andalou does start off with the slicing of an eyeball but it mostly concerns it self with surrealism
its still worth watching though

Elmofongo: Is it wrong I liked the Redux Version?
Historically no because most Western audiences are not aware of the French involvement over there and that whole aspect of history is sadly overlooked. Other wise it is wrong because the movie is over three hours long as is. :P

Elmofongo: Well what famous movies I never seen? But want to?

Lawrance of Arabia
Bridge on the River Kwai
The Shining
A Clockwork Orange
Schindler's List
Silence of the Lambs
All great movies, you can't fail in picking which one first to watch.
As for Silence of the Lambs, there are two direct sequels and one prequel. They're not great as the original but there is a chance you'll like them also.

two prequels

red dragon is the prequel and it was filmed twice first as manhunter ( the better version )
and then as red dragon from 2002

red dragon isnt a bad movie its just that manhunter does it better

Its great, though it gives me the uneasy feeling that 'I'm not beating off to this, but I know someone is.'

Not much body horror these days so get it where you can.

best ones to pull that off are still and always will be videodrome and the fly

The Shining
Silence of the Lambs
In Russia there is no such thing as a famous movie you want to see but haven't yet :)))

You haven't see Shining and Silence of the Lambs??? Take a day off immediately, buy yourself some snacks and get cozy under your favorite blanket!

Maybe the only movie more or less famous which I want to see is:
Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead

I think I've seen most famous movie that I want to see. What's left is those I don't care to see:

The Godfather
Gone with the wind
The Shinning

I'm not saying I'll never watch them but I won't go out of my way to do it. The first two is because I don't like spending time watching big serious dramas, the last is because I'm not a Stephen King fan. When I want serious dramas I watch the news.

I can be lousy at predicting what I won't like. I didn't think I'd like Citizen Kane and Casablanca. I was very wrong.
Downfall is a very serious drama and I loved it.
Debbie Does Dallas... my brother had a copy but i never put it on in fear of what id catch by touching it.

I think I saw a small snippet of it, someone's nipples cut off with a razor blade. That gave me a strong yikes!-effect, not sure what else to expect, and is there anything worth it to watch the movie, except to see whether one can handle it.

I've seen a big part of it from TV, but not completely. At least I missed the very beginning. :) It didn't make much sense to me naturally, some guy dragging a piano on his back etc. :D Also I think there are some French metaphors in it that probably don't make any sense unless you are French or read about them at IMDB.com, like why the guy had ants crawling on his palm (some kind of French phrase about ants on the palm, meaning getting an urge to kill or rape someone?).

Surrealistic, for sure...

There were a few mentions of the Godfather > Watch it now! They're particularly good at capturing the Italian spirit especially at the wedding in one of the opening scenes. Also, it has moments of silences during conversations which most films can't pull off with the same intensity.
