Elmofongo: Ugh and you think George Lucas fallen from Grace?

The last good movie from Coppola is arguably his Dracula movie. And ever since he descended into Mediocrity. (And no Producing movies do not count)
avatar
InfraSuperman: Admittedly, Lucas might be worse in that regard. His last good movie was the original Star Wars in 1977.
Wow someone who likes the first Star Wars movie more than Empire Strikes Back. Welcome to my club ;)

Actually, I like those two about equally. This was more in reference to how Lucas didn't actually direct any films between the original Star Wars and The Phantom Menace, as he only produced The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

Elmofongo: Has that ever happened? You heard of this critically acclaimed film that every one says its one of the best films, yet you yourself never watched it? Or just movies that people like to bring up on occassion?

Well what famous movies I never seen? But want to?

Lawrance of Arabia
Bridge on the River Kwai
The Shining
A Clockwork Orange
Schindler's List
Silence of the Lambs
Schindler's List is an excellent movie, you should really find some time to watch it. I guess for me it would be any of the Star Wars movies. I've only seen bits of I think the first one (I just remember Luke being in some kind of trash disposer with a monster in it) as a kid when my brother would watch it.

"What an incredible smell you've discovered!"
I saw Gone With The Wind as an anniversary cinema showing back in the 80's it was awesome.

And people tend to treat Indiana Jones as if it was a George Lucas movie and not a Steven Spielberg movie.
I'd love to see Citizen Kane, The Public Enemy, and Marty.

I agree Casablanca is awesome, one of my all-time faves with Raiders & Aliens.
None...

Elmofongo: And Martin Scorsese's mafia movies are better imo because they show the mafia for how they really act.
casino bored me to be honest

it doesnt help that my dvd is a pan and scan widescreen version so the movie is in about one third of the screen

tinyE: That's true. FFC is a great director but the Godfather pics are WAY too romantic.

no but i didnt like pulp fiction very much
some of the sections caused me to raise an eyebrow

though of all tarantino's movies i dislike death proof the most

apocalypse now redux is a bit on the long side of things though
its already a long movie to begin with and redux pushes it to 200 minutes
its still an awesome movie

On Pulp Fiction: Such has the "gimp" scene?

On Redux: I liked the extra length. I just like long movies in general. I want the "Epic" Scope.

thats one of them
and the dance scene
and the foot rub conversation

well if you like long movies the lotr extended movies should be right up your street ( return of the king extended hovers between 238 and 245 minutes )
as well as the three hobbits extended
ben hur
and gone with the wind which is probably one of the longest movies i have on dvd
