If I remember correctly, I really enjoyed the game... until my path crossed the path of robots with lasers ! I wasn't prepared for such combats and couldn't go further.

oasis789: Albion was a great, very underrated gem. Unfortunately this also means that it's not going to have the WOW factor of SS2 and Wiz8.
Albion stole my kid heart. It was also a first game translated into Czech by a editorial board of local game magazine. Beautiful game, too bad I didn't have enough medkits, mana potions and bad ass enough character to finish the last 1% :(.

tfishell: Huh, interesting. I wonder if Night Dive was able to talk to some people at Ubisoft that GOG couldn't, or something?
Gosh, maybe GOG even turned it down for some reason and NightDive are trying to release it on Steam?
How come NightDive don't have to go through Greenlight when stuff like the Postal series does, BTW?

So it wasn't just me! I had to give up on what was possibly the last but one battle, because I had run out of resources and no option to stock up anymore. (I vaguely remember something like running out of bulllets when you needed them to hurt the opponents or something?) Probably scarred me for life regarding RPGs, now I've become a packrat who'd never waste a single potion if not absolutely necessary. :(

Still, I'd buy it in an instant if it came to GOG.

I felt like that meme image with the guy blasting off on a jetpack, saying, "F**k this g*y earth."

Leroux: So it wasn't just me! ...
*consoles* I was frustrated a lot by inability to solve the situation so close to endgame. My obsession with maximal potion saving is extreme and I wouldn't be surprised if Albion was a main culpit of such behavior :). I'd buy it instantly.

Jeebus, I was just saying, wasn't trying to troll or anything...
Personally I'd love it to appear on ANY DD site...
I think some of you guys put too much stock in what Night Dive can do. I think it's more of an easy way for the various IP-holders to release their old stuff without having to bother getting themselves certified on Steam - I kind of doubt Night Dive had anything to do with the original Shadow Man-GOG deal as well as the oddly rumored Re-Volt re-release.

Case in point, I just noticed that 7th Guest and 11th Hour have popped up as well on Steam under Night Dive being named the publisher. Hell, those games were sold on GOG long before Night Dive even existed, and curiously are being sold on GamersGate under DotEmu. That's why I also think only after Wizardry came here may Night Dive have approached Gamepot about a possible release there. It really seems more like GOG is making it easier for ND to facilitate Steam releases after the fact than the latter being such a great help to the former.

Other than them securing a digital re-release of System Shock 2, which still was no small feat, and IHNMAIMS it still remains to be seen how effective they are otherwise. Only two actual releases of their very own doing in a period of seven months surely isn't an awful lot.

Just wanted to address some facts.

Edit: Also, this quote from their FB page and their own website has me puzzled still:

Night Dive Studios develops original and innovative games with a strong emphasis on fun and rewarding experiences.
Which would be... what exactly? There's no evidence of that anywhere.

In short: licenses are fucked up, shit's all crazy, stop caring.

Not even a little bit?

gotta disagree with you there mistermumbles, I consider those two achievements within 7 months of each other to be pretty good

Why care? I mean really, honest question... If a game is for sale, get it, have an official copy, enjoy the convenience. If a game is no longer sold anywhere due to licensing, download it as abandoware. I mean why not? It hurts no one, and games should be preserved.

Simple as that IMO.

I feel guilty downloading abandonware. Yes, I understand that in most cases the original developers are not receiving the money from games being sold today but that still doesn't change the fact that I genuinely feel a bit dirty getting these games without paying for them. I'm not against abandonware, it is very important to keep these pieces of culture around long after the big wigs care about them and Abandonia has some of the better classic PC game articles I've seen, it's just a personal dishonest feeling I get that I don't like.

I know it's arbitrary, especially considering I have no reservations about getting a lot of other stuff for free, but I just can't help it.

The rest is just to help GOG out even if it's only a little bit. Actually that may have something to do with the former reason now that I think about it.
