Stilton: Its an unknown sometimes when that happens - grab them and cross them off the list, but if a sale is looming there might something even better. The truth is they'll all go into the pot and come around again, so what I do these days is go by 'want the most' and that way I at least get something I want for a good price.
avatar
CarrionCrow: You're right. They'll keep coming back around unless they get pulled, which doesn't happen very often.

I'm trying to get my list cleared so that purchases will be once every six months in a nice big pile instead of piecemeal buying here, there and everywhere.
It sounds easier that way, but new stuff will always be coming out to tempt. I prefer to think about what I really would like to play and take it all at a slower pace. Of course, a sale could come along in a couple of weeks and I'll be pulling my hair out like I normally do, but overall I like to concentrate on the really worthwhile stuff.

Of course. Especially with things how they are now. If you want a flow of games that will literally outlive you, PC gaming is the place to be.

I like your approach better, though. It sounds nice to handle things like someone who isn't a cyberhoarder.

Big sales are always like that. It's discount overload. As soon as a person starts looking at deals, it's all downhill from there until the games budget runs out.
Aha! The Double Trouble! The Dynamic Duo! :P
Good Morning! :)
Seems there was a extensive conversation that went down here, and I'll have no time to read almost any of it :)
Well, maybe when I retire, I'll be able to hang around here :) That's if they still allow pensions then...
Hope you are fine... having a good cup'o'joe and heading to work again...
To add something to the conversation: I'm a fan of laptops... the human kind, not the ventilation device kind.

Which is kind of crazy, because it'll all turn up again. Cherry picking is my thing now - I only hope I can take it slow when the next sale hits. There was some stuff on Fireflower that I was pretty tempted by, but I didn't get it because vying for attention alongside my collector's compulsion was the question, 'Are you really going to play that?' And when I said yes, it piped up again and asked, 'When?' When I didn't have an answer I knew the smartarse was right, so I backed off. Which has saved me money for when it matters.

Oh, it absolutely is. It speaks of people who are conditioned to go for big sales like starving dogs after a nice piece of meat, despite everyone I know having hundreds of games, if not over a thousand.

I was going to suggest being support for sale stuff, but that'd be like having a raging drug addict as your narcotics anonymous sponsor.

-laughs- You had the same chat with yourself that I did. Looked at my list, asked the question of, "How much of a crap do you truly give about such and such title? Will you truly care if you don't play this any time soon?" then started chopping them out.

Good morning. =)

No worries, there's pretty much always some kind of conversation happening.

Doing all right here, hope you and yours are similarly well. Have a good day that goes by quickly.

Have a super day, Super :-) You came and went before I knew you were there :-( Must be all that coffee...

Its quarter to four and I'm starting to go cross-eyed. Time I was away with the zombies :-)

Sleep well everyone out there - that includes you, Batman :-)

(...Moon...if you're lurking, have a good day at work :-)...)

See you all soon.

You too. Have a good night, get to feeling better. See you later on. =)
It's almost 7am here and the caffeine crash is incoming. So good night to you all on my part as well. :-)

Been there, done that. (Roughly 17,000 times...) Always fun.

Have a good night. =)
Okay good nights for the sleepers! ;)
I may have found another game genre to be hooked in; properly tried the digital board game Talisman.... suddenly I didn't want to stop... had to force myself... argh :)

Getting hooked isn't a bad thing, unless it's insanely expensive. Just means you're enjoying what you have.

Sure yeah... just trying not to forget to do anything else that's important :)
Certainly it's a good kind of fun... been wondering if the AI players can hold a grudge. I've been stealing some of their best cards :) I might be in for an ambush...
Good morning, people of the thread!

I hope you are all having a lovely start to the day, or for some of you a good nights sleep?

*morning hugs and waves*

You're doing it wrong. Polite greetings don't wake up a thread. Shotguns do :-)

Well my gun is locked safely away on the farm, so I had no choice but to be polite. :-)

Good morning, Mr Agent!

How are you feeling today?
