CarrionCrow: Ohhhhh, boy...

Did a fast read on Wikipedia and it screams nutjob cult. I'm sorry you've got relatives in the midst of that.
avatar
Klumpen0815: The children are completely imprisoned in this cult and are not allowed to have any friends outside, daily routine is arranged up to ridiculous detail, talents are left dormant and weaknesses are trained all the time etc... that's basically what he did to them from the moment of their birth and either he found people that are as nuts as himself or it's been going on for a very long time now. I just got to know, that he pulled one of my other brothers in there too, I knew that his wife tried to cimmit suicide because of him treating the kids like shit and forbidding her any parentyl influence, but now a bit more makes sense too... like him mentioning a woman 10 years ago who has to have been a missionary back then already who is in total control of the children now.
Of course when a mother tries to commit suicide in Germany, the children are going to the father and he can persuade most people that everything is fine with him... :/
Is there any way to get authorities involved to assist?
No clue whatsoever in regards to how much the government in your country deals with that sort of problem.
avatar
CarrionCrow: I have to ask - what's your difficulty level and party composition?
avatar
adaliabooks: I believe I went for the lowest difficulty (based on what you had said, plus I'd rather enjoy the game then get frustrated and quit), so that's probably it. I may have chosen the middle one but I can't remember, I'll check next time I play.
As for party composition, I went with Arcane Soldier (bit rubbish), Soldier, Cleric, Bard & Barbarian. Seems to work well so far but I've only just gained my first level up.
avatar
GhostwriterDoF: The map looks like a huge area, (world). Are you making a strategy type game?
avatar
adaliabooks: That's the plan. Grand strategy / 4x type thing with some extra bits. Very ambitious I know, but what the hell :)
Don't feel bad, you've got a shit arcane soldier and I've got a shit paladin. Maybe we can get them together for a blind date, then have my mage set their useless asses on fire and kick them off a cliff while they're distracted.

GhostwriterDoF: You should try to put in a condition in the map making process for the major water ways (oceans)
to all be connected, especially if you plan on having naval forces. Perhaps even make a distinction
between oceans and inland bodies of water. lakes and possibly rivers as well connecting them to the
oceans.

That way your world generator can have defined continents and a more realistic looking world, if at all possible.
Yeah, that's the plan. It's just based on random noise at the moment. I'll need to refine it to make continents and oceans more defined. The river generation is the next step, need to do a few more calculations first (downslopes along the edges, moisture levels). If you have any ideas please let me know, I'm learning as I go :)

He may improve in time... but he's definitely the worst of them so far (other than the main character, who is a bit pants but at least has redeeming features like herbology and lockpicking)

Edit: I might have chosen a Paladin if I'd not remembered you said they were rubbish. Unfortunately I couldn't remember which ones you said were good...

There is happening quite a lot against this sect in Germany atm, but from what I gathered in my research, he may be planning to go to Norway, probably for exactly this reason.

For me, a mage, cleric and thief are important. So long as they have magic points, a mage will do WAY more damage than a melee character.
Also, I agree regarding the main character. He's a bit garbage, but you can't change his class and no one else can get his special skills.
(I love that a god picked some random berry picking asshole with no combat experience, no magic, no weapons, no army to be his right-hand man in the human world. Makes me think that god is a moron.)

Well, that's good at least.
Any chance they can be steered in the person's direction before they get a chance to leave the country with the kids?

Lol. Yeah, he's not the hero of the gods I would have chosen... Why is he only level 1? Why didn't the gods choose some super human over levelled warrior lord?

I was tempted to go for a mage, I wish I'd picked a mage instead of the Arcane Soldier but I thought I might need a cleric and I liked the idea of the bard (who is quite good actually). But I can live with one slight dud.

Not sure, but I might end up restarting after I take a serious look at how to optimize my party. That game keeps kicking my ass and that paladin keeps on annoying me by being alive.

Or, I might be swayed by TinyE mentioning his dilemma with a Sith run of KOTOR and do that instead since I've wanted to do that for a while anyway.

Or, I might prove to myself yet again that I'm a fucking idiot and start playing 7th Saga.

Decisions, decisions. -laughs-

I don't want any help for that one. If I have to suffer and it makes me stop playing, then it's on me, I'll wipe out my save and restart later on.

Oooh neat more Xullima talk?

And driveway is clear, deck is shovelled free of two feet of snow and celebratory beer was already consumed on said deck! Yay!
