I don't know... feels a bit too fueled by nostalgia. And at this point "spiritual successors" or "love letters" to classic party-based cRPGs aren't exactly new or rare, like they seem to want to imply in the trailer.

Do you have a link to a transcript, by any chance?

(Also, please don't post unmarked links to sites that autoplay video.)

Actually, to what I would consider to be the classic CRPGs, there don't seem to be that many, if you exclude Japanese Wizardry games. There are, however, a lot of "spiritual successors" to the following generation of games.

In any case, this game, from what I can tell, does not feel like a spiritual successor to the likes of Ultima, Wizardry, Bard's Tale, and Might and Magic; it feels more like it takes from the likes of Pool of Radiance and its successors, which are a very different style of game. (Simply including tactical combat completely changes the feel of combat, and makes things a lot slower.)

Looks nice; any chance of a Linux release in the future?

OPlay: Really nice trailer. So this is a TEST developer game. Very original name for the studio, I have to say. Also, the publisher has the same TEST name.

LMAO
Yay, good to hear this. Following this game for couple of months. Though with lack of communication from developers is hard to get any news.

dtgreene: I would argue that character creation and combat may be the most important parts of the game, and hence may be the most important things to showcase in the trailer.
If you are right, then this game will be a huge disappointment, I hope not.
Ooh,...nice!
Onto the wishlist you go.

But if you take away character creation and combat, you don't really have a game anymore. Or if you do, it couldn't really be called and RPG at this point.
I have not.
It's only about an hour (including the first couple minutes of technical difficulties) anyway. Just watch it.

Sorry, but I don't watch this sort of video. (I really only watch videos of gameplay of video games.)

Plus, an hour is a long time to just be sitting, staring at a screen.

Maybe share some of that "love for games" for customers (they are the ones enabling your "love for games" in case you are unaware of that) too and remove that captcha stuff from your Newsletters and the rest of GOG.

On the contrary, rpgs (both crgs and ttrps) are about the story, with a character creation having its role as a part of reward for players (and sometimes as a part of the story itself).

Combat is a part of rpg of course, but only as a "spice". If you put a combat in the first place, then you should probably play strategy games. Best crpg ever made Planescape Torment, has very limited combat. Even Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale thanks to RTWP have limited combat (there's a lot of it, but it's quick), contrary to, for example, Temple of Elemental Evil, which is great game too, but nothing compared to PT or other Infinity Games.

Finaly turn-based crpg based on 3.5 edition rules... this is exactly, what I was expecting, when I heard the first time about Kingmaker... can’t wait to put my hands on this *cheers*.
This game, Pathfinder: WoTR and BG3 are by far my most anticipated games right now, though I have doubts this game will make come out this year.
Have watched alpha gameplay videos on YouTube and was sold long ago. Great that it's coming here to GOG!
